Hi,
I registered a domain at godaddy.com yesterday for $7.15
I have changed my mind about the domain and want to receive a full refund.
I believe this is possible, isn't it?
I found an article about "Domain kiting" on godaddy help and support and i presume what i want to do falls under this, doesn't it?
http://help.godaddy.com/article/3676

So how do i get my refund, i tried "Cancel this domain" but that doesn't give a refund.

+rep for help. :)

You've already cancelled?

if so, reply to the cancellation confirmation email, asking for a refund. don't forget to quote your four digit identifier.

if you've not already cancelled, email them asking for a refund first. they should then ask you to cancel as I've described above.

I've not canceled it, when i saw "This does not entitle you to a refund" i closed the page.

So i should email them asking for a refund? OK, I'll do that now and post back.

Couldn't hurt..In my experience if you provide a thorough explanation they will usually be reasonable about it. With shorter explanations, they tend not to offer a refund..

Good luck

What i do is call them- Speak to someone within 4 days of registering- always has worked for me- refund sometimes has been with 2 hours of calling

By my experience there is no need for any explanations. Just send them refund request within 5 days from registration. They will ask you to cancel domain and done. Haven`t experienced any problems so far.

Just cancelled one myself today which autorenewed, when I in fact, wanted the name to drop.

I emailed support about this, and have cancelled the name as told to do so. I sent them the necessary info from my account so they could verify who I am. I have been told to expect my refund within the next 48 hours or so.

Best to email then first before cancelling the name yourself.

yeah, that's easy, I've got a full refund twice, just emailed and asked for it with an explanation of "oh I actually don't want this name" :)

Is it possible to get a refund for the TDNAM -closeout purchases?

I mean, I will pay the tdnam $5 and get a refund for the domainname renewal-fee?

Thanks!

The best way to get a refund would be to 1st email support then they'll tell you to cancel the name. Then you email them & they refund you.

100% refund.

Here's how Godaddy told me how to do it:

Thank you for contacting Online Support.

We would be happy to request a refund for your order. However, we will need you to first cancel the service in question within 5 days of the purchase. Once the service has been canceled, please reply and we will submit your refund request.

Please note: Cancellation and refund of certain services will also cancel any free services associated with it.

To cancel any item in your account, please use the following instructions:

First, log into your customer account:

• Go to our homepage.
• Select 'My Account' from the top of the page.
• Log in using your account username (which may be the same as your customer number) and password.

If you have trouble logging in, our Account Retrieval System may help you. You can use this to retrieve your customer number and/or reset your customer account password. You can find this system by selecting 'Click Here' next to 'Forgot Your Password?' on the 'My Account' login page.

Once logged in, follow the steps below to cancel:

• Select 'Payments and Renewing Items' from the 'Customer Info & More' menu.
• Check the box next to the item(s) you would like to cancel and click on the 'Cancel Item' button.
• Select 'Cancel Now' in the menu that appears to the right.
• Click on 'Save Changes'.

Please let us know if we can assist you in any other way.

Best Regards,
