Mods. not sure where to post this so if this is wrong forum please move to appropriate forum.

Well the battle of the sexes, or rather sex's, has begun on Sedo's auction listing.

With only three and a half days left 'Sex site' (sex.st) has a current bid of only $950, whilst 'Sex at' (sex.at) in only a few hours of listing has a bid of over $10,000.

Is the situation going to change, is .St, the new boy on the block going to make a fight back, or is Austria going to make a knock-out blow against the newboy. At the moment it would seem the old contender has come into the ring and stamped his authority, but will the new boy be able to use his marketing promise and dance around the old contender.

Sex.at is recorded as selling at $14,145 dollars in 2005 (DNJournal), so the present owner is looking for about another $6,000 just to break even (after Sedo fees).

Sex.St is new to the market, released by the registry on only October 21st this year with its sister domain XXX.st (also in Sedo listings).

It will be interesting to see what prices these two, Sex.at and Sex.st, end up finishing at. It is one of those rare events where different ccTLD's can be compared, will marketing and brandability value give Sex.st the final advantage or will a sale history give Sex.at the advantage? Over the next week the result will be known. Whatever the outcome these two absolute prime domains will be watched closely.

Well, Sex.at is no longer listed in auction on Sedo. It still had over 6 days to run of the auction, had reached 8,100 euros (over $10,000) and yet it has suddenly disappeared without comment.

Can you just withdraw a domain from the auction when bids have been placed, especially when the reserve has been met?

Well, we can only speculate as to the reason until Sedo explains how this has been allowed to occur.
