Good evening people!

Hope everyone is ok!

What do you fellow domainers think of LL CCTLD's? Do you think they hold any value and if they do how much do you think you can get at wholesale price? Do you think the future market for these domains is going to boom or fail big time?!?

Im considering buying a few from sedo and other places, just wondering will it be worth it in the long run?

All opinions welcome!

Dan

It all depends on the extension IMO.

Yes I agree its a factor. As some extensions cost between $100-$500 in some cases.

Luckily in my case, im considering buying cctld's that only cost around $35 a year. :hehe:

Thanks for your opinion, much appreciated!

In the less popular extensions there are a LOT of LL domains left. I bought a few a year ago. Thought I really scored. I got some of the very best letters, some have meaning, etc. A year later I had to renew. With dificulty I sold some on ebay for about what I paid for them. I kept a few, a continuing question in my mind is if I will sell them for $$,$$$ each or lose money on the reg fees.

There are a few dozen countries (maybe less) who permit LL names and who allow anybody to register them on speculation. So the total number of these domains is tiny, ten or twenty thousand perhaps, world wide. Yet these domains have 4 letters including the extension, plus the dot. That is the same as a one letter .com!

Now that is short! Logic says that once the .com-only mind-set is broken then any extension would be worth about what any other one is, .com would still have some cache' ; .info, TV and a few others would add some meaning; and companies who want to identify with a particular country would prefer the CC of that country. Otherwise a .vg would equal a .net.

So are all those LL.country code domains out there soon to be the next big thing? I question the "soon" part. It is all about popularity, among domainers and end users, and they are not now popular at all. I think they should be, but that counts for nothing. And you have to pay for them every year.
