Hi All,

In case you haven't yet caught our announcement in our monthly newsletter, we're releasing an auction platform this month! Are you as excited as I am - Check out our release below-

Our auction process was designed to benefit sellers by maximizing their final sales price through a public auction and at the same time make it easier for buyers to identify high-quality domains as auctions closing soon and those with high bidding activity will be featured on our homepage and appear at the top of the search results.

Sellers will have the option to push their domains to auction once their price expectations have been met through our traditional offer/counter-offer system. Auctions run for a maximum of one week, closing seven days after the original offer was accepted as the reserve. For premium domains, sellers have the opportunity to work with a Sedo broker to determine a reserve and list the domain for auction.

To celebrate the launch of Sedo Auctions we are offering a special promotion where any premium domain owner who lists their domains with Sedo Auctions before the October 24th would pay only a 3% commission rate. Including your domain on Sedo Auctions will dramatically increase their exposure to a world-wide network of motivated buyers on the leading domain marketplace. For more information about listing your premium domains with Sedo for auction or to take advantage of this special pre-launch promotion please contact us at [email protected].

Best,
Mara

Will this be a free to use service based on paying a percentage of the sale only ?

Will the auction be launched before end of October, 2006, Mara?

Went to Sedo.Com and saw nothing there yet about the upcoming auction.

Will be most interested to see what features are provided. Is there a beta?

It's for all domains. You set a minimum asking price and when this is reached you can place it into auction.

Hi All,

Sedo Auctions have been launched! Check out our home page for some of the domains recently sent to auction.

That's correct Damion, Sedo Auctions are available to all domains listed on our marketplace. They are simply two ways to start an auction. The first is by sending a domain to auction once you recieve an offer on Sedo's Marketplace. The offer that prompted the auction will act as the auction's reserve and the starting bid.

The other way to auction domains is via a Brokerage Initiated Auction. With this method sellers work with their broker to determine a reserve before starting the auction. The domain only sells if the reserve has been met or exceeded.

Hi, Mara:

English is not my mother tongue, but it seems there are some grammar mistakes in Sedo's auction write-up:

"Because the first bidder placed their proxy bid earlier their bid will be the current highest bid. The second bidder must place a new bid in order for their bid to succeed the proxy bid."

http://www.sedo.com/faq/index.php?a...56&artlang=en&tracked=&partnerid=&language=us

Just trying to help. I'm sure you didn't write it, and I hope this will be taken constructively by whomever at Sedo. Or else I shouldn't bother in the future. (I realize that not every person thinks or behaves rationally.)
