Hi all!

We’ve created this thread to make it easier to communicate with us here on Namepros, and we’ll also be posting regular updates on our offers and products. Please feel free to share any feedback and suggestions with us, or to let us know if there’s anything we can assist with.

We’d like to kick things off with an extension of our $7.99 .COM transfer sale, the code “COMTRANS4” has been extended until 23:59 PST on May 31, and there’s no limit on how many domains you can transfer using the code. Every month we have great prices on a wide selection of domains, and you can find a full list of our sales here:

https://www.dynadot.com/sales.html

We’re also excited to share that our CEO, Todd Han, will be hosting an AMA (Ask Me Anything) right here on Namepros in the near future, with more information on a date and time coming soon.

Dynadot is an ICANN accredited domain name registrar and web host headquartered in San Mateo, California. Founded in 2002 by a software engineer, our primary focus is engineering and design excellence. Our custom written, state-of-the-art domain and hosting software is stable, fast, and easy to use. From humble beginnings, we have grown steadily and now are home to over 2.6 million domains.

The "For Sale" at Afternic and Sedo indicators/icons in the Manage Domain section are also not updating anymore.
We have resolved this issue - The "For Sale" at Afternic/Sedo indicators are now updating correctly.

Request to remove or increase thread character limits (Input exceeds limit error)

1779537245452.png

Hello @Dynadot team, @Alex Freeman

I am trying to create a sales thread on Dynadot Forum, but your system keeps throwing an "Input exceeds limit (subject: 150, content: 300)" error.

Your platform's character counter is miscalculating the text length. Even when keeping the text strictly under the limit, it is almost impossible to create a proper thread.

Furthermore, a 300-character limit for a main post is far too restrictive - this is a community discussion forum, not Twitter. If you want to grow this platform, attract active sellers, and allow users to create high-quality, informative threads, you need to remove or significantly increase these tiny restrictions.

Please look into this bug and consider updating your thread limitations.

Best regards,
BrandingGo

Hello again,

I am writing to share some feedback regarding the current word filters on the Dynadot forum, which unfortunately made it very difficult to post a simple domain listing today.

The system seems to have a lot of standard business keywords completely blocked. I ran into issues trying to use everyday industry terms like "B2B", "ArtificialIntelligency", "make money", and "crypto", finance, biz etc

It is quite disappointing to see these restrictions on a domain marketplace. These are foundational keywords for our industry, and without them, it is almost impossible to properly describe a domain's niche or value to potential buyers. If we cannot use standard commercial terms, it leaves us with very few options for what we can actually list and sell here.

These tight filters are making the posting process incredibly frustrating. I hope you can look into adjusting these keyword restrictions so the marketplace can remain functional and user-friendly for all sellers.

Best regards,
BrandingGo

Hi,

Someone listed TODAY my exclusive Dynadot domain portfolio dynadot.com/user/premiums on Sedo and Afternic without my permission:

Why did this happen? Dynadot has an option to auto-reject listings-is it not working?

It's the same thing as someone listing your real estate for sale without permission. This kind of scam ruins the reputation of the domain industry. It means platforms like @Sedo and @GoDaddy end up deceiving buyers by offering inventory they don't actually have.

If you like my domains, you must buy them first and only then list them as yours. Selling someone else's property without permission is theft.

Feature Request: "Dynadot Exclusive" badge for marketplace and auctions

I would like to propose a new feature. Dynadot should add an "Exclusive" label to domain landing pages and auctions and domain store page like this dynadot.com/user/premiums

This badge will let buyers know the domain is sold strictly through Dynadot. It will protect buyers from fake, overpriced listings of our domains on other platforms like Sedo or Afternic.

Dynadot's Auto Reject Listing Requests feature only automatically rejects Fast Transfer requests. Your listings have been listed on Afternic and Sedo as regular listings. Fast Transfer listings have green icons in your Dynadot domain manager.

It's annoying, but you will have to reach out to Afternic or Sedo or add them to your accounts there using ownership verification and without listing them for sale if you don't wish to.

I always list all my names on Afternic and Sedo and then delist them (not for sale) but let them stay in my account (if I don't want them to show). In this way, no one else can list them without txt verification (which they can't get since I own the names)

Hello,

This plugin is so annoying. How do I turn it off? Can you remove this popunder?

@Alex Freeman. In the "Manage Domains" section, when you go to the next page, the scrollbar starts at the bottom of the new page instead of at the top. It didn't used to be like this.

@Alex Freeman When filtering by folder, the select box is now very short, cutting off longer labels. Is it possible to widen it a bit, back to what it was before?

Also, a minor QoL improvement that was mentioned before when entering the 2FA authentication codes: allow the enter key to submit (or even just auto-submit when all characters have been entered).

Neither of these is a huge deal by itself, but eliminating 1000s of repetitions/annoyances each day would lead to a little bit less friction over time.

How can an aftermarket purchase take up to a month to finish (20 business days+weekends)? Is Dynadot shipping this ”premium” domain from China or something? It still shouldn’t take that long (and the domain is actually registered at Dynadot). If you’re going to sell aftermarket domains, do it well or don’t do it at all. (Unfortunately this particular seller didn’t offer a satisfactory option such as Spaceship.)

I think this is just DD being overly cautious (and giving low expectations) since sometimes the seller can take ages to respond. I'm pretty sure you'll find it generally happens a lot quicker.

Hey Back in office now!

So @NicTraders is mostly correct, since it's a broker order (in that it's coming from afternic or sedo) it can sometimes take quite a bit to acquire the name since we don't have control over it's delivery (even if it's with us as it's not being sold by us so Afternic has to initiate the transfer). If the name is on FT/MLS usually it's done within a day or so though, it's just if it's on the regular way it'll take a bit longer as Afternic needs to do it manually.

Any name purchased through our site directly is processed within 1 business day, with some exceptions like if additional verification is needed for the buyer.

Oh yeah the scroller just seems to stick on wherever you were last were (which is usually the bottom). Let me check on that if it was a bug, I don't believe it was on purpose.

I'll see if we can get it reverted back, shouldn't be that big of an issue.

There's not a way to remove it at the moment without making a site-wide change. Why specifically would you want it removed, wouldn't you want to be notified the action was succesful?

Ah so this is most likely as the name was bought with our $8.99 coupon so it's with another registrar. In the first 60 days renewl is not an option (as it counts as a transfer) so the system won't allow renewal status changes. That is getting fixed at the moment though, I think it was just an oversight when we started this program.

If anyone cares, at this page:
https://www.dynadot.com/account/info/settings.html

You can go to advanced settings toward the bottom of the page to find a Scrollbar Size setting. You can choose to display large scrollbar which definitely beats the small scrollbar.
