I thought there should be a thread where users can showcase there newly acquired .domains
Many interesting domains have already been registered. What .domains do you have?

We might use it for Efty Market (one of our features) when we launch our beta next month. For now it's just forwarding to our main website.

goto and excellent is too generic to worry about trademarks... what are your qualifications for criticizing someone about trademark law? I have a legal degree and 10 years experience in trademarks.

You even mentioned it on your page and linked to it with stats and everything. Clear squatting.

When some people read that, they might think lawyer, maybe in trademark law. Reading your site, it says you were a paralegal for a few years with a certificate, not degree. And what is your 10 years experience in trademarks mean exactly? Because I don't see any of that experience being applied to the domains you buy.

So in your limited, closed .com mind... everybody who registers a domain name that has a trademarked word is a cybersquatter. So if there is roofrepairbusinessinnyc.com who has the trademark "roof nyc" and then someone registers roof.repair.... in your closed mind that would be cybersquatting.

But the reality is new.tld is a Tesla: Lightweight, catchy, stylish, priced higher than .com. Many thought the Tesla would fail but their stock soared!

.com is old, desperate (selling for 99c on namecheap), big like a unpractical SUV. People's minds are mostly in this category, not just your mind. But eventually they will see the new TLDs as the Tesla.

That makes sense, if the TM holders did not secure the domains for their brands and all possible variations in the hundreds of TLDs that already exist, that means they relinquish their TM rights.
Therefore, Second Life, Goto etc are not valid TMs. Thank you very much for your insight.

I'm not anti-gtld, in fact I have a few, but it's unsubstantiated, ridiculous. and insulting comments like this, where and why you loose any credibility in here, especially to the anti-gtld crowd, to your pro-gtld interest-visions. Its hard enough to convince others to what you see and believe with the new gtlds, but ".com is dead" type of comments, just adds credence to one's lack of experience, true understanding and knowledge of the domain name game. Believe it - .com is not old or desperate! It's just got a lot more company out there now.

Credibility?

You talk about "credibility" and yet you claim that you had been involved in the release of new gTLDs. Were you a member of any ICANN advisory group on new gTLDs? Were you a registrar or involved in the domain name industry? Perhaps you were just involved as a domain name registrant and no different from thousands of others.

It must be galling for those who were involved in the ICANN advisory groups and in the domain name industry at large to see people like you wanting to take credit for their hard work. But then for you it is just marketing and those who actually were involved in the release of the new gTLDs just accept that with good grace. However please don't try taking credit for the work of others - it lessens your credibility.
