April will be my 5th month not working for anyone but myself, I have made every penny in the last 5 months from buying and selling domains. Also in the last 5 months, I have noticed a Japanese Man, in his 50's walking from point a to z talking to himself in his own language. I don't understand what he say's, but it reminds me of the book "A NEW EARTH". The voice inside the man's head is now speaking out loud in public, poor man is not aware we can hear him. Several times, I noticed him already sitting inside the restaurant I like to visit once or twice a week. I never judge a person from his words, rather I study their eyes. The human eye’s has the power to project more words then the mouth could in a year!

I learned yesterday, the more you learn in life, the more knowledge points you gain, the more unhappiness you face in this world. I asked one of the girls who worked at the restaurant if the old man needs any food and I was told they serve the man a vegetarian dish on a daily basis. It made me very happy to hear that. I don't remember the last time I heard an owner of a restaurant feeding a homeless man on daily basis. It's rare these day's. Last winter, when I had to make an early stop at a Tim Hortons in downtown Toronto, the staff were forcing a homeless man out of their store in force, as the man begged for some bread. I went into Tim Hortons and purchased a coffee and a breakfast meal and gave it to the man with $20 cash. The man smiled at me and Thanked me. Tonight I gave the Japanese Old Man $100, he replied back in his language with the word $100 in confusion. The voice in his head started to speak again. He kept repeating the word "Hundred".

What is money? As far as I'm concerned, money has done nothing but create problems for us on this planet. What good is money, when only 6% of the world have it and the rest starve? Their is much we have to do in our generation and generations to come.

To receive in life, one must give to others. Going out and giving money to someone and then expecting to receive a million dollars is not going to happen. Some give all their life and leave this world not getting anything in return. Fortunately, the good news is. We don't live once! If we did, then I would not be here righting this note and you would not be here reading this!

Next time you decide to contact an end user to sell a domain name, ask yourself how many domains you own? and how many more domains you like to own? when you have an answer, then ask yourself. How many domain's do I have to sell to buy myself a better domain! 80 million .com's are now registered, 80 million combination's of words and letters! Yet, I manage to find expired .com's on a daily basis that sell for $50 to $1000. Keep in mind, some of you are Rich or may have more money then me and may find my little success a joke as you did in my last discussion! I'm not rich or drive expensive cars or live in an owned house, I make enough to cover my expenses and my families.

My message today is to encourage those like myself who started with nothing and have turned this hobby into a small profit and experience that will only get larger!

Rule #1 – expired domains are what you want to buy and sell!
I use several methods to determine my decision on purchasing an expired domain name. As I get better in this game, I will share more with the community.

Until next time, may the force be with you.

FYI: It's not the first time I gave a stranger $100 :)

That was very nice of you, and I wish you many more successes in both domaining and in giving.

I try to do good things when I have time :( Most of the time I am busy protecting myself from getting scammed here and there and most of the time I am busy working that I don't even get time to take a bath.

Next time you meet him please try to teach him how to fish :) Feeding him fish will last somedays only.

But a great gesture from your side :) In today's world one needs guts to give out $100 dollars to stranger. Cheers.

We need more of us not to judge others for what they have become, but share the peace we have with in us. Life is not perfect, otherwise we would not be here. Until the end of times, we need to give and not judge or ask questions. May the force be with all of us and be found by the lost souls :)

Together we will open more doors!

That was very kind of you. I always give when I can, even when I really dont have it to give, or shall I say could really use it myself. But it always makes me feel good to help out. Now, if I could just start actually selling some domains... lol. Especially now, this economy sucks. I lost my job last month and still cant find a new one. But I do live in a smaller town, so...

"Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down,
shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap.
For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you."

Good job!!! :great: :great: :great:

Thats really weird - i thought of doing this today D-:

Theres this guy who sits outside Dundee University all the time begging for students - most of whom are £10-20k in debt - for some spare change. Always felt sorry for him since he's around my age and obviously hasnt had the best of starts in life.
The only worry is that he'd spend the money on drugs and not use it as a starting block to rebuild his life.

Im in a similar position where Im not rich by any means but have enough to get by. I like your mentality and hope more people on NP consider it ;)

Not all beggers are needy

The last time I gave money to a guy who said he was homeless, I walked into the resturant where he was begging outside and got on the phone long distance for a good while. This guy comes in and emptys his pockets. Not kidding piles of quarters, nickels dime. The counter lady did not even ask him what he was doing that for as to suggest this guy does this daily.

Then she scoops up the money drops it into a change counter and hands the guys 6 rolls of quarters. He steps over to the pull tab machine and fills the slots with the maximum amount of quarters and in 5 minutes he is broke again. $60.00 gone in less than 5 minutes!

I talked to someone there and he says they are not content making $50. to $100. part time begging, they want to hit the $500 payout from the pull tabs.

Its funny as that time I was very low on money. Another thing I never gamble as I do not have money to throw away.

So unless it is a rare person who is really in need I do not give to beggers. I am not saying your gesture was not a nice thing to do or your homeless man was a trickster either. I am just saying in my book keep feeding them change and there will be homeless men on every corner forever.

What pisses me off is when I was absolutley broke and I was newly married years ago and had a baby I hit the street, not with my hand out. I knocked on doors of small resturants and business establishments and offered to clean their windows. So the homeless can beg for a few bucks then go buy a squeeqee and start making money.

My efforts paid off, within a year I was running a big cleaning company with employees and truck mounted steam cleaners and within two years I bought my first house. I am not lying about this as I still have a cleaning company and clean a very big health club six nights a week. I pay all my bills from that job. I do it all myself and that gives me time to run a little plant farm and do my domain busniess too.

All I am saying is like Nick says teach the man to fish, don't just lay fish at his door every day. Of course a mental person may not comprehend the concept. Weigh it out.

We have a man on a busy corner here who sits in a wheelchair daily with a oxygen tube up his nose. The sign reads homeless vet. Here is the thing. He has a nice trailer in a trailer park. He parks his van which is much newer and nicer than mine across the street in the Shell station and walks to the corner pushing his wheelchair to his gold covered corner where he gets over $100 dollars a day under the guise he is homeless and hungry. Of course he is on food stamps, a disabiltiy check and goes to the food bank. One time I stopped at the light and noticed a lady hand the guy a $20. She must have felt good too, but if she only knew she was the host and her assets were being consumed by a parasite.

Alot of these guys are using your hardwork so they can live a higher lifestyle. This winter we had two feet of snow that lasted for weeks. These guys could have gone to the downtown area and made lots of cash shoveling the fronts of the establishment sidewalks. Most business owners even have a shovel in the back of the store.

Nah, its easier to find suckers who will keep them in cash. To the guy on the corner that is lying about his condition, don't give him the cash and he will move on. Saying that when a person is truly in need and to help that person is a wonderful thing. Just judge it right.

The "I can make ends meet and I can do it attitude" is what made this country. Now with socialists handing out money in our governent it will not take long that more and more will truly be homeless. Having a piece of cardboard with homeless and hungry vet written on it is not reality in most instances.

I like goodkarmaco's story better.

Either way if giving money to strangers makes you feel warm and fuzzy inside then maybe it's worth it. Whatever floats your boat.

It does always depend on the situation, and it's often hard to tell. Here, where I live, there are a lot of "homeless" people on the street holding signs. They bring their dogs (stats apparently show that men with dogs make the most money in handouts), sometimes I see kids standing with their parents, some bring lawn chairs and kind of congregate, holding their signs. I've seen signs that say things like "Family down on our luck" and "Gulf Vet" a lot. The best sign I ever saw was "Skrewd by the government." I thought it was kind of funny, especially considering he spelled government correctly, but misspelled "screwed."

I never give money to people asking for it on the corner. The biggest reason is that I don't have money to give away. I moved to this area in late November and didn't manage to get a job until very recently. I'm a week into my new job and I've been struggling with money since I've been here. I never asked for a handout.

I don't have money to give, but I do volunteer my time. I volunteer at the humane society. That's the best I have. :p
