Wait a minute ... you are saying that Poker.de is the ONLY prominent sales at DomainFest, and the remaining three sales (one, a three-letter .MOBI) totalled a mere $5,500?

This is the same DomainFest that Mr. Pinky attended ... instead of visiting us here at Namepros? :red:

Thanks for the assist, Tim.

The only thing I can conclude is that these venues simply are not that good a place to sell domains. Less than 4% sold. TRAFFIC sales are around 5%. Unless you submit stellar names with a ridiculously low reserve, what's the point?

LOL ;) But I don't appraise names for 0 +/- reg fee B-) I either give them a value or say they downright blow

And seriously, any defending of mtld on that count is pathetic.

edit: Love the sig

well...imo...if they came and read all the imature and moronic posts that go on here they could easily conclude there's no reason to speak to this forum.

Disagree.
Although it's increasingly clear that those most loyal to .MOBI / mTLD have taken away from some of the quality - and balance - to the recent discussion and dialogue here in the .MOBI Forum™, I think that they (mTLD) should still see this as an opportunity to provide much needed insight and clarification ... as to what exactly they've been doing and have in store for the extension's future, IMHO. Also, it would be great, once and for all, to get ALL of our UNANSWERED questions addressed, as well! :yell: :lala:

Appreciates.

ditto. I agree. Some of the postings/nonsense/rants from naysayers, pseudo-fans would keep me away if I was working with MTLD. I rea dhow some people trash the market and the TLD only to come back later begging domainers to sell them great names cheap... LOL, I hope no one falls for that BS. And then there's others who obviously pretend to care, who truly are only trying to manipulate and/or troll... wasting their time and ours. It's a shmae how easily others get pulled into it and fall for the BS and slowly turn on MTLD. That's fine by me... I'm not here to "save others" from themselves, not here to trash the market so I can get cheap names (because I missed out), and certainly not here to listen to people whine about MTLD when they have been working aggressively to promote MTLD (if you don't see it, then you don't see it... you just have to know where & how to look)

IMHO, MTLD has nothing to prove to me.. they've already proven themselves. Lack of their visibility on this board is no indicator of whether or not they support domainers or developers. Perhaps they attended DomainFest (rather than attending this board) because Europe is beginning to embrace .mobi (as fast or faster than US companies) and it was a scheduled "domain expo" that was well-publicized (to DS publishers) vs. a chatroom that will be here when the expo is over (if they choose to even come back)

And even if they do or don't come back to NamePros, will that stop me from coming back? Will it stop me from buying more .mobis or developing them?

Of course not.

I don't need MTLD to hold my hand. They've already given us many tools to develop, test, channels to market our developed sites, etc... perhaps it is the parkers & flippers among us that are worried the most.

There's a big difference between being a "whiner" or a "winner"... you can all figure it out... but I will tell you it has nothing to do with "relying on" or "waiting for" others to act. :)

good rant. i also expect pretty much nothing from mTLD.. anything that gets accomplished is a bonus in my mind.

its a company, so obviously they will be moving forward.. i dont care at what pace.

i prefer fast as lightning, but well.. thats life.

those people that are expecting to cash out within the next 3-5 years may be disappointed.

The "LOYAL" have "Taken away"? LOL... open your eyes... more like "MOVED AWAY" to other private boards, etc. There are at least 4 other new .mobi forums, with similar/different agendas, that have sprung up to fill the vacuum. None of the agendas deal with trying to save us from ourselves. LOL. But NamePros has a great balance and is still a great place to network with like-minded domainers and I like the population in the .mobi & .tv sections... I just make sure to ignore those that are irrelevant/trolling. As far as I'm concerned, we already have MTLD's clarification on most important issues... but some of you insist on asking them ridiculous financial questions that make me laugh... that any TLD (or private company) out there would also laugh at (i.e. How much do you make? How much did this company invest? How much of each dollar goes to?)... some of you aren't being genuine and it's so obvious to see... while others are waiting for a any chance to "expose" MTLD to feed their conspiracy theories... while others are out there trying to bring the market down to get domains cheaper...

ridiculous.

It's real simple... if you like what .mobi is offering, buy a domain. Either develop or wait to flip, but don't come crying that they forced you to spend money and don't come crying when there's no domains left that you really want but can't afford.

bottom line... don't invest what you can't afford to lose. nothing is guaranteed... why do people always forget how important this is?
