Even BigApple.mobi wouldnt be worth a 100k-250k reserve and someone is trying to sell TheBigApple.mobi with that kind of reserve. That name wouldnt even get $1k if they tried selling it. TheBigApple.com wouldnt even be worth that much. No way democratic or governorsisland are going to get a single bid either. press.mobi is definitely not going to sell for 50k minimum and same with 247.mobi and lax.mobi and lhr.mobi and transit.mobi. none of those are going to get a bid above reserve.

I am not lucky at all with the three favorite dotMobis, and they turn out to be trademark dotMobis. I have to avoid buying them since I have no such trademarks ...

I do not see a problem buying home.mobi or vacations.mobi, this are simple generic names that could be used for so many things as far you keep away from the class of trademark for which it was filed for.
home and vacations are strong generic terms used in the public domain and you may also want to read more about trademark.

For the domain, it is not a good faith if we try to sell it. In that situation, it is easy to lost it if the TradeMark's owner want to get it back. IMO

300.mobi is not "no reserve"... its below $5k tho.

and RentCars.mobi is not $25,000-50,000... its also below 5k

Yep, you are correct. My sorting missed the reserve column. Reserves have been corrected in OP. Thanks for pointing that out. Unfortunatly, I can't say the reserves make much more sense.

Mixed feelings about "The List". I only submitted 9. 1 made it. The one that did, HotFares.mobi, I considered a long shot. Personally, I thought a couple of the others had a great shot with the rest, mmmmmmmaybe?? Anyway, I'm looking forward to seeing if there'll be any action on this one. I might have misunderstood your previous post.
The trademark owner here seems to be the owners of the domain names you want to buy.
I do not see how they would get the domain names back if you make clear of your intention to them before buying the names.
Signed agreement would be a good option in buying this names from the owners.

I work in the IT travel sector. Airport codes mean next to nothing to the ordinary traveller, business traveller maybe more relevance. IMO the smart money is on the carriers provding that information. Some intances I can think of ba,klm,virgin,jal.mobi etc. A lot more punchier than some airport code.

Would some one know for example , KIX stands for Kansai, Osaka, Japan international airport ?

The carrier is more likely to push their services for arrival/departure times. The airports would not be able to compete.

I zeroed in on that very example when I reviewed the list early this morning. Some of my personal frustration relates to being highly selective in my submissions because I appreciate they have a hard job putting together something as large, and meaningful, as the New York auction. Any name I've ever submitted was quality, no junk.

The auction requires significant time investment too on our part so naturally one expects a logical, well-managed process by the selection committee.
