The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

I successfully sold just 1 Dan parked domain for 2 years...
+ 4 via their escrow using Bodis/ParkingCrew lander = 5.

could you please translate that?
what happened?

@LaszloSchenk

Is it possible to change the default color scheme (green) on our for sale pages at DAN? Tried changing the colors on individual for sale page listings, had no effect.

It would be a great if DAN offered more than one color scheme for the for sale landing pages and let us choose which is the default color scheme in the for sale page settings.

Good idea?

Would like to hear your thoughts.

Thanks

Does anyone know if there is a way to have your Dan.com portfolio sort domains alphabetical by default?

@LaszloSchenk

with all respect to u and all dan company, except for yer coders:

well i was just about to make yer newly fixed bugged for years public folio link as official public link to my names in my namepros signature.. then possibly also use it elsewhere for clients to show my domains too... but before I did it, a little bird told me to my ear to click on few pages.. especially the last ones, to see if all is well...... well.... guess what.. all is everything but well... looks like u may need to hire new coders.. the fix we all waited for so long for and u advertized as fixed... is showing same 50 domains for X last pages on my folio.. of course, i don't assume its just my folio.. and i haven't checked on how many pages it just keeps copying first page of folio.. but i checked at least last 7 pages.. which of course is already 1 too many... so in other words... page 1 of my folio = page 37 = page 36 = page 35.. etc etc

hope u get it fixed soon. preferably before advertizing it as fixed publically.

i am going to take wild guess here and conclude your coders got lazy and whatever exceeded 500 domains bug before, they just copied and duplicated from page1. and then called it a fix.. perhaps u should investigate this laziness... of course i am slightly exagerating here, and just trying to bring humor to a really unfunny situation.. the coders probably didn't get lazy... and just lack competence.

i mean imagine how yer clients feel after basically begging u for years to fix the folio 500 limit bug.. and then yer coders do this by aparently duplicating first page of folio on whatever exceeds 500 names.

Whats up with fractional domain ownership
@DAN.COM ?
Good morning @wisdoms,

There is currently nothing to report regarding this yet. However, I will make sure to update you as soon as any developments take place.

Have a great day.

thats true
i find their add lead option excellent.
working in basically all leads that are solid and serious to begin with.

i was on their landers for while and had few offers. but either unpaid or not concluding in price negotiations.

based on comments here, seems dan doesn't work for many or maybe most people... lander wise.. or even way worse just having offers/sales thru market directly.

im sure dan has stats to say otherwise, but i am definitely hearing otherwise here too from people. and me too.

its okay to just become a lead finalizing comapny too.. if it works well.. which it does.. they make money.. domainers make sales.. everyone stil happy.. but original aim of dan wasn't this I suppose.. so there is potential for more.. with proper advertizing and marketing etc. i guess its not easy to become like godaddy in popularity .. or sedo... but u gotta try.
Dear Alcy,

Besides the previous update, there are no details for us to share publicly. The statement that our landers do not work for many or most people can be made but is wrong. We grow rapidly on a monthly basis in traffic, domains, and sales revenue. The For Sale pages are favored and we receive nothing but positive remarks regarding it. New signups and existing medium and large portfolio holders regularly notify us of the improvements they experience while using our platform as opposed to former alternatives. This renders out that DAN.COM will only become a lead finalizing company.

Regarding the public portfolio, thank you for notifying us. I will inform the product team and have it resolved asap.

Have a great day.

Good morning @Brian L.,

At the moment it is not possible to sort domains in a public portfolio on alphabetical order. We currently have this listed with our product team still. We will let you know as soon as this moves to production.

Have a great day.

Good morning @Alexej K,

Since the post was released we have been working a lot on buyer acquisition. Through it, we drive increased traffic to our homepage. Unfortunately, I cannot communicate our entire strategy here as it would become too easy for the industry's copycats to take advantage of it.

To give you an impression of the traffic we relay to our homepage please consult this link: https://www.similarweb.com/website/dan.com/

Have a great day!

Hi @LaszloSchenk

Thanks a lot for your reply.

Unfortunately, I'm probably one of those who's not seen any benefit from your activities.

Since I took out all of my domains away from DAN on the 1st May 2020 (i.e more than 2 months ago) I have only had 2 views on the platform itself.

Meanwhile, my own landers across 50 or so domains, generate upwards of 1,000 views/month, I've had offers coming in, and closed 7 deals since.

To give credit where it's due, I do use DAN to import my leads and close transactions and it's always been a smooth experience, however as far as pointing to DAN and using your landers go, there just doesn't seem to be any reason to prefer that over own landing pages.

Happy to reconsider,

Just my experience,

Al

Good morning @Alexej K,

Thank you for your response.

Could you send me a private message with a domain that resides in your DAN.COM account? I will make sure to verify your setup and see if I can find any points to optimize your account.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

I want to know if @Alexej K makes more or less sales with/without dan landers. To me, it could be exactlty the same if there is no BIN and only make offer leads.

I have previously (successfully) resolved ownership conflicts by contacting DAN, incorrect listing were indeed deleted, no issues - except that it is all manual.

Have you checked to see if the domain listing page still exists at Dan.com? Usually it does and is picked up by search engines at dan.com/buy-domain/yourdomain.com and says "Yourdomain.com has been deleted" and invites the user to shop for another domain. AFAIK that page stays up forever - what purpose does it serve?

You may not want that page to exist, particularly if the domain is one that should not be offered for sale as that would put it at risk - then WIPO protagonists can point to pages like that and say look at the evidence, it was offered for sale.

Indeed. The page should be 404 instead... imo such a page does not serve any purpose, especially if there was a drop and subsequent ownership change for example. It also does not help endusers who might become new owners with or without DAN marketplace, their SEO results may be affected by this irrelevant content.

Did you setup a BIN on dan for your domains ?

When I had all my domains pointed to DAN, only 10% of my domains had BIN price (all those in low $xxx that I had for liquidation), the rest were all Make offer.

With my own landers they are all Make offer.

My hypothesis:
As far as I can tell (from small sample size) - those domains priced at $xxx sell at BIN (impulse purchases), the $x,xxx sales are from Make offers.

In other words, if DAN isn't driving traffic, then their main advantage is to accommodate those BIN sales where the Buyer doesn't want to negotiate / communicate.

So if one can find a way to integrate their own BIN payment processing with 3rd parties on their own landers, the platform really doesn't matter.

@LaszloSchenk I'll reach out to you in DM. Also, have you considered offering an API for payment processing like Escrow does? Where I could integrate DAN BIN button on my own site at the 5% commission fee?

Just my experience.

Al
