DAN.COM (formerly known as Undeveloped.com) is on a path to be become the biggest domain marketplace in the world. We use state of the art technology to solve everyday problems buyers and sellers in the domain industry face. At DAN.COM we focus on automating most processes required to buy & sell domains to increase a more efficient and active secondary market for domains.

What sets us apart is our strong focus on product development and customer satisfaction. We leave nothing to chance and every single feature and element we introduce is professionally and carefully designed and built.

DAN.COM is ranked in the top 5 best-rated marketplaces in the world (According to the biggest review platform Trustpilot) and in the domain industry, we're the domain marketplace with the highest rating with an average of 9,4 out of 10 points.

At DAN.COM you will get the highest value for the lowest commission around. Due to our domain transfer automation, we can offer significantly faster handling of domain transactions and payouts (usually within 24 hours) at the lowest fee charged by any domain marketplace.

We've been the first on many fronts and proudly will continue to keep innovating. We were the first to offer optimized for sale pages since 2013, the first to provide payment plans in the form of lease to own and rentals and also the first and only domain marketplace offering free SSL on all domains parked with us for over a year now.

@LaszloSchenk

How about having a separate DAN Annoucements thread where only you guys post? I find it hard sometimes to keep up with what's going on at DAN, and this discussion thread, albeit an important source of information and sharing of ideas, is often polluted with nonsensical discussions and ramblings like the guy who wants his lowball offer to go through no matter what.

I know you guys have a blog and a Twitter (and what else?) but the community mostly hangs in here, and for routine communications and other small improvements/fixes that interest mostly to domainers, I think this would be a better format.
Good morning @legendarynames,

Thank you for the suggestion and I think it is a great idea. I will relay this to our team and see what we can come up with.

Have a great day.

@LaszloSchenk
can u plz explain in some detail what buyer gets as email text for:
- add lead as transaction
- add lead as negotiation

differences, etc. ty.
Good morning @alcy,

As such buyer/lead gets multiple emails the thread would become too long. I strongly recommend you import yourself as a lead and a transaction to see the differences between the emails sent.

Best regards,

sorry @LaszloSchenk but im stil unclear why it is exactly u charge extra 4% for paypal payouts over 2k? can u please clarify this policy for me. is it because of the risk of payment from buyer or the risk of payout to seller? which risk is that exactly and how is this risked bypassed by the 4%? is it different payment type then that cannot be charged back or something? really confused

Good morning @alcy,

The 4% increase in commission is because the cost would become too high for us. As you know we always aim to incur as many payout costs as possible. However, a $2000 payout is the threshold at which the cost would become too high. It, therefore, is no longer feasible for us to process it.

Have a great week.

ah ok so this has nothing to do with additional bigger amount chargeback risk or such? maybe hence my confusion.
i guess the whole chargeback risk thing to be clear, is when u limit buyer to 2k payment only via paypal right? ty

Good morning @alcy,

No this has nothing to do with the risk of chargebacks as you can request a Paypal payout regardless of the payment method chosen by the buyer. It is the currency that remains the same. In addition, the buyer is limited at $1000 as we cover all the risks of chargebacks for our users as a service.

Have a great day.

Hi @LaszloSchenk,

At the start of April, DAN announced this on Twitter:

"It's time to update your portfolio, DAN sellers

We've started a buyer acquisition campaign and are sending good traffic to our search page. Make use of this extra exposure and add prices to your domains for example!"

Do you by any chance have any update on the progress of this campaign, some details about what are the activities that are taking place, and maybe even give some examples of what we can look out for?

Thanks,

Al

@LaszloSchenk
and one more thing about lead import:
i just tried for first time to import lead as negotiation, usualy i import sale price.. and buyer replied with offer.. even if in this case it was same as my first import price.. so my questions are;

can u please add buyer country and ip like in regular offers? i noticed in lead window nego these are not there.

also, can u tell me what exactly it means or are at which stage addd lead negotiation goes from unconfirmed section to confirmed? is it when they click some email link ? or when they actually reply to an offer oficially?? most of my added leads are still in unconfirmed section.. so what this means? plz also reply to my msg above. ty for yer time.

Good morning @alcy,

When importing a lead you should add the offer the buyer submitted to you as a starting point for your negotiations.

Besides, I will relay your request to our product team. However, as you already had contact with the person in question it would presumably make sense you already know where one is located. Lastly, it is correct that when a lead uses our confirmation link in the email that the imported negotiation/transaction is moved from unconfirmed to the confirmed section.

Have a great day!

ok ty for this info
the only comment is that it is incorrect for dan to assume we know or ask about buyer location just because we received lead, from this or that source. therefore if u can add all this like in regular nego, then plz do. should be just copy paste of code.. given u already hve all this implemented in regular offer window. ty.

Good morning @Alexej K,

Since the post was released we have been working a lot on buyer acquisition. Through it, we drive increased traffic to our homepage. Unfortunately, I cannot communicate our entire strategy here as it would become too easy for the industry's copycats to take advantage of it.

To give you an impression of the traffic we relay to our homepage please consult this link: https://www.similarweb.com/website/dan.com/

Have a great day!

great news
sadly for most like me so far results aren't there and no sales or even offers thru yer market.
no increase either

what would be amazing is to asctually get your actual stats on how many sales or offers come thru people coming thru redirect landers vs yer market. im sure yoru system can distinguish the two. hopefully u can share. given my own experience and others mentions here, i would expect sales thru yer market directly to be virtually non existent or maybe 1% of what yer direct lander sales might be via dns. ty

I am sending all my domains traffic to DAN, but no sales. Sales have been happening in other marketplaces.
I didn't mean to them buying my domains.

Marketplace has been tuned in such a way that it completely ignores some extensions.

u mean no sales even thru landers? we were talking about market
i thought things were happening if we did landers.

I successfully sold just 1 Dan parked domain for 2 years...
+ 4 via their escrow using Bodis/ParkingCrew lander = 5.

thats true
i find their add lead option excellent.
working in basically all leads that are solid and serious to begin with.

i was on their landers for while and had few offers. but either unpaid or not concluding in price negotiations.

based on comments here, seems dan doesn't work for many or maybe most people... lander wise.. or even way worse just having offers/sales thru market directly.

im sure dan has stats to say otherwise, but i am definitely hearing otherwise here too from people. and me too.

its okay to just become a lead finalizing comapny too.. if it works well.. which it does.. they make money.. domainers make sales.. everyone stil happy.. but original aim of dan wasn't this I suppose.. so there is potential for more.. with proper advertizing and marketing etc. i guess its not easy to become like godaddy in popularity .. or sedo... but u gotta try.
