    Good morning all,

@frank-germany, we have discussed this topic multiple times before recently. As indicated before, we only release features and certain aspects of the marketplace based on data and a/b testing. We do not release nor alter features based on assumptions. When comparing DAN.COM to all e-commerce companies globally vested we provide the most elaborate and most customizable VAT structure possible. It is fully up to you to decide what setup you would like to maintain and what you feel comfortable with. If you think the assumption that your clients are highly confused by your listings is right I strongly recommend you do not show VAT on the landing pages at all. However, we will not change the setup based on this assumption as we rather stick to the data we have recovered through a/b testing.

@varyemez, great to have you on the platform. I would recommend you contact our support chat. We can inspect your account and help you optimize it to maximize your chances of selling domains with us.

@AEProgram, we do not offer this yet. However, we might provide this option in the near future. I will relay this to our product team.

    Have a great day.

    @DAN.COM
yes we have discussed that earlier on

but I do have the feeling that you don't understand my point

it's not about VAT as such
    and not about showing VAT

    I like it
    and its great

    my point is

    1)

there is no ESTIMATE of a 16% value

    no way
it's always a very exact number

    2)
you do not need to explain on the landing page
    what a VAT is
    not to a german buyer
    they do know it

and in case you want to educate the visitor
please do it at a later step

    not at the landing page

    @DAN.COM

if leads and sales would be constant and regularily
I wouldn't even think about DAN's landing page

    but sales from Germany
have been extremely low during summer

    so bare with me
if I doubt the landing page is perfect

and I have my doubts that you are testing
.de domains and german visitors separately

I wish I had any idea what does Dan do to become anything more than a landing page provider.

I remember when Dan was Undeveloped there used to be lists of manually selected names on the main page. To categorize, list and promote certain quality names could help buyers, sellers and the platform itself. Right now, unless the visitor landed on a peculiar page of a domain they are interested in, there is very little to guide them towards a purchase.

The search is dysfunctional. You can't even browse through words of a certain length: you need to enter a character first. So, to be able to see what 3-letter names are listed on the platform or in an individual portfolio, one needs to try every single letter of the alphabet. Not only that, there could be all sorts of masks including C V filters available to help choose a pronounceable name, e. g. CVCVC or even non-fixed like "8 letters total, no more than 2 consecutive C"......could, if the marketplace was really interested in visitors being able to find something they could like...

The search is broken. For example, https://dan.com/search?&terms=r&tld...no_unicode=true&results=10&order_by=relevance does not give any results at all. And it has been like that for a long time. No surprise though, since people had been reporting the "50 pages limit" bug in this thread earlier and it took like a year for Dan to have it fixed. There are also minor bugs here and there that keep being unnoticed and/or ignored. Dan claims they are financially successful, maybe its time to hire some QA staff?

The recent announcement of Dan-Efty integration is bizarre. Typically businesses try to reward customers who are acting in a way beneficial to these businesses, not punish them. There are all types of loyalty programs, discounts, benefits out there for such customers. In the domain industry, Sedo takes less commission from sales where seller used Sedo landing pages, compared to their regular commission. However, while people who are bringing traffic to Dan pages thus promoting Dan brand have to pay 9% from their sales, now Dan provides better terms (5% commission) to those who do not do that and sell using their Efty pages. This approach is something truly revolutionary in the area of customer retention.

I can imagine that board meeting at Dan:

M1: Hey, Efty has some fat domain sellers who make sales, we could use some of their fees.
M2: They are used to Escrow.com level of fees, they won't be ok with 9%.
M1: We could give them as low as 5% fees then.
M2: What about our main userbase? They pay more than that and it could make them unhappy.
M1: Who cares about these losers? They point their domains to us anyway.

Hopefully the rising competition (SH et al.) gives Dan a kick they need to put a little more effort into genuine development...

    @DAN.COM

please don't forget that undeveloped had become strong in listening to their customers = the domainers

your customers are the domain owners
    please don't forget that

    not the domain buyers

Sedo wasn't able to understand that part of the deal

I heard somewhere about Bodis and DAN partnership or something like that for parking domains!? Does it mean in future we can earn for parking not pointing domain nameservers to Bodis platform?

    Good morning @SamirAz86,

That is correct. You can capitalize on both your domain sales and PPC revenues. Please find all desired information and a manual through our blog:

And where will I see parking earnings? On Bodis only? DAN just showing number of visits! Should I add all my domains to Bodis too or Bodis ID added to Dan settings is enough?

    Hi,
I recently sold a domain name,
    It's DNA trading,
Then the buyer used the installment payment function,
But I just received the money from you and found it was wrong,
it was an imported lead and not a direct click.
But you charged me a 9% commission,
All imported lead in installment should be 5% as far as I know .

Just send the customer service a message through the chat. They will solve it immediately. I've had this resolved for me too. It's pretty quick and easy.

It seems that dan has a new rule on dan.com

Please understand that these are our rules.

We give buyers 14 days to respond, if they haven't responded to our communication we terminate the transaction and refund the buyer.

If they're still interested in the domain after cancellation, they'll come back and purchase it again.

Is it the way dan works with your sales ?
I dont like this, when a buyer buy a domain there is a contract, he pays and the seller has to provide the domain to the buyer.
With this rule a buyer have 14 days to change his mind for a domain, even if he paid it !

Where do you see this? I think this is incorrect. I don't see this in general terms and conditions either.

How is it different from example SEDO? With SEDO the buyer just doesn't pay, they cancel the deal but give you the buyer's details if you want to pursue legal action.

It is up to you to pursue breach of contract not DAN.

the difference is that the domain is paid by the buyer and out of the market. And 2 weeks later dan decide to cancel and refund automatically if the buyer does not respond to them.

It's a waste of money and time for the seller to work like this.
That's wasnt like that in the paste, they've just decide that without any notice.

Dan is great but does not communicate properly when they decide to make some changes. They make changes without notices, and it's not the first time.

What they mean by respond is that they have 14 days to pay for the name + initiate transfer etc, not 14 days after they've got the name

no, I'm at BIN only on dan.
Dan request the seller to open an account to receive the domain. If the seller doesnt answer they decide to refund him.

I have 3 offers in a row using the 100 € MIN BID
shown on the DAN Landing Page

    I again urgently request @DAN.COM remove that 100 € Min Bid !

that is extremely bad negotiation tactics
-check google for "anchoring in negotiation"-

    I have explained in details
that your problem of lots of low budget sales
can be solved in different ways other than
telling the lead upfront about a 100 € Min Bid

just disable the button that agrees to a lower than 100 € offer
    problem solved

I want NO VALUE to be shown when I select "no value"

Which only makes sense as DAN cannot legally keep buyer's funds forever and cannot disburse to seller if buyer won't take control of the domain.

But it'd make sense to impose a penalty in such cases - and reward the seller a small. compensation for every day the domain was out of the market.

    Good morning @SamirAz86,

You can see all results from within your Bodis account indeed. The domain should be added to your Bodis account as well.

    Have a great day.
