    Good morning all,

We can see that there are a lot of mixed feelings regarding the new minimum pricing policy we have updated recently. The decision was made based on viability. It has nothing to do with DAN.COM deciding our clients globally what the worth of money is @alcy. In addition, we most certainly have not made this decision to put pressure on our clients.

The decision was based on the following:
For the past years, DAN.COM has been aiming to provide a frictionless and open platform for all. We never charge a minimum commission fee for example and allow even transactions of just $1. Unfortunately, our current policy is being abused by some domain sellers which process high volumes of $1-$20 transactions via us.

This has resulted in the total transaction processing time for all to decrease because our team has to handle a lot of transactions that don’t really require us as an escrow party to be involved.

Therefore, per July 17th, 2020 the minimum listing price for domains offered at DAN.COM will be increased to $99.

To conclude, please note that we still do not and will not have a minimum transaction fee, however, we have to protect the integrity of our platform by not accepting small transactions to be conducted via our system for various legitimate reasons.

    Have a great weekend.

if the problem is for transactions between 1 and 20, why did you dont you put a minimum of $20 ? With a euro portfolio the min price is now 114usd, far from $20, so i have doubts about what you say.

why dont you make this announce a few weeks before puting it in production ? I'm travelling these days and your decision will result in a loss of about 400$ per day for me. you give your customers no chance of finding a correct alternative solution quickly.

    I see the problem.
But your solution is not the solution to that problem.

    The solution would be:
not to proceed with bids ACCEPTED at that level.

    Means:
TO DISABLE THE FUNCTION to ACCEPT
    that low offer

I sincerely hope you reverse that ASAP
as I see no reason to send traffic to DAN
when you limit my way of getting the lead

I had many more leads after I set the min bid to zero
than before when I had 249

don't forget I send you the leads
    with my traffic
you don't give me any leads
and DAN is not a well-known player
the main reason I send traffic to DAN is lazyness

So Frank you want the $1-$20 to be disabled, but you want to still allow min bid to be 0 to get the lead? But that offer is impossible to be accepted with the new rule but it could still generate the lead. I think I see where you are coming from.

Dan certainly should not be wasting their time processing $1 to $20 transactions, and why would someone want to pay 9% on that level. Better to just accept Paypal on your own lander or crypto or some other micro payment app.

just ban those who abuse it..instead of trying to justify how all have to pay for the few bad ones.

either way 1 to 100 is long way..plz do like everyone else and if u must put it at 20 as others said

I don't sell at that price level
    I want the lead
    I want to negotiate

if @Dan doesn't want those sales
    they can make them impossible
by disabling the ACCEPT THE OFFER button
    below 100 USD

    SHOWING ANY MIN BID PRICE
make the lead bid that price
    or closely at that level

Oh ok, I do agree when people see min bid $500, they just bid $500, and when you counter they asked why the $500 then? we know it's all a psychological game. But I moved so many names to buy it now, I just don't want the conversations, it bores me to be honest. So I would rather just pay the buy it now or no conversation. There are a few names that I keep make offer but not many.

My thoughts exactly... And, besides, it may well be that at least in some negotiation cases there is actually self-proclaimed "domain broker" on another end - who will not purchase immediately (or at all), but is just looking for a price...

    Leads or Sales?
When I tried something like that - I really wasted my time on those lowballers.

Bido was always used for such extralow flips.
    Not Sedo.

sedo changed months ago and is fine now for low flips.
I also need api to modify prices, add, delete domains. Not sure bido can do that.

Sedo doesn't provide API for anybody.
Only for their partners (registrars) and SedoPRO members.

So just continue to use Sedo...
Nowadays their primary sales volume only from domainer-to-domainer transactions.

No, for a few domains per month, sedo is ok, but for much more, it could be a nightmare i think...

Bido is not a competitor for any marketplace.
From the beginning (2008) it was designed for flippers and liquidators.

I dont consider, I liquidate my domains. I sell 99% of them to end users and at the right price for them and me. The problem is that the right price for some of my domains is under the minimum price dan decided.

Anyway , for the moment I put paypal redirection instead of dan in case of the right place is under 99€, let's see what will be the % of refund requests.
If that's too much I will put in place something else (adyen, stripe, etc...) Managing hundreds of transfers per month is not a problem for me.

    Mike Mann owns ~300K domains...
And I have never heard that he sells them <$100 per domain (even for the worst domains)...

Sure, but I'm not Mike Mann.
I made multiple split tests and continue to do some to make the more margin with my domains.

You should target the best buyers... not the worst...
    This rule is very simple.
    If you want to succeed.
