Hi and thanks in advance for any advice/help you can provide me here! I am not all that savvy when it comes to back end controls. I am changing web hosting service and I am wondering how I can move my blog to new server and hopefully keep the content, dates, settings the same..? Is this possible? I mean I have all the content backed up and regardless, I can set up the same program and settings (I am using b2evolution, fantastico). I would really like to keep the post dates unchanged. If someone could tell me the easiest way possible, I would appreciate it.

I guess, the manual method always work.

1. Backup all your files and DB
2. Update your Nameserver.
3. Create and restore your database from your new web host.
4. Modify the config file to reflect its new username and password.
5. Upload all files.

Since you're running cPanel, you should have no problem. There are many hosts out there that will move it for you or, in the very least, help you move it. Contact any potential hosts and ask them if they do this. It should not be too much a problem.

Yeah, As you mention fantastico, I believe that you are running on a Cpanel server.
Is your new host also using Cpanel? If that is the case, migration is pretty easy. Just contact your new host and let them know your login details. They can do it for you efficiently with a couple of clicks.

This will just move your site as it is to the new location.
