It has become a fashion now to post a buy request and receive offers. But the tragedy is that these people do not care to even reply to the offers sent. You can find so many of buy requests with zero feedback. This means, they did not buy anything at all.

I have been experiencing and I can tell you with authenticity that there are a lot of bogus buy requests here with ZERO feedback. They just want to know what you own. May be they have some ill conceived ideas in their minds. I appeal to NamePros Sellers, beware of these "buyers", do not respond to them unless these buyers are authenticated by NamePros moderators thoroughly.

Let the buyers with zero feedback first prove their authenticated identity with NamePros management with their proof of ID cards.

    Thank you very much.

It’s not so much that they are bogus buy offers but that they are hoping to buy gold for the price of lead.

Or that the offers being submitted represent garbage that isn’t even worth buying at the lead price.

This thread is reflecting the reality...

    I totally agree with this...

I noticed that there is no charge in trade score before and after the buy request...

Not to mention putting large budget in message then again asking for prices of low double digits...

I used to send to many people...then again I realized these are not legitimate requests... I started to send only those have some trade score...

Another thing in these requests they start and again they will close the thread after couple of days...and start new request with same criteria....these usually won't get response because of ridiculous prices they are offering...

I saw someone post 4 request threads in span of 7 days or so...with same requirements and same low paying prices...

Started to press ignore for these types...

There are many other methods in this... I doubt there may be some other motive behind these requests...may be to get some idea about naming...or something else which we don't know..

That being said there are definitely some legitimate buyers who respond and some update the thread with their requirements...or bump the thread when they didn't get their desired names...

Wish there is some method to measure their authenticity...or at least to mention their buying records to respective request thread..

    Thanks

I have myself put up quite a few buy requests in the recent past with “crappy domains” being offered so it goes both ways!

How will proof of ID cards help??? They are not scamsters. Just that they donot buy anything and are trying to get domain Ideas I believe.

    Not much can be done.

If the Moderator plays a role here to monitor these Buy Requests, much can be done, can avoid bogus buy requests, we can save a lot of our precious time.
My concern is only against the bogus buy requests, I am not targeting any genuine buyers here. Please note.

Haroon, there’s not much one can do here or even a moderator because they cannot segregate any buy requests because it’ll depend on the buyer whether the offered name meets his requirements and investment strategy or not.

I’ve seen it both ways. Sending exact match names for bargain prices and no response. Also get literally hundreds of names spammed to me for requests and not even close to any of my requirements- solution for me = quit using the wanted section on NP.

Maybe you should put your real budget in the thread. What you think is wholesale others might find laughable. It’s not just you but one of the major problems here is ambiguity on pricing and people claiming big budgets but wanting to pay desperate people close to nothing.

It’s at that point OP where majority of request threads are a joke. You can’t go to GoDaddy, DropCatch etc and pay peanuts but somehow everyone assumes NP is the bargain basement of domains.

Namepros is offering a free service, no one is modding every request, or getting id cards.

Here is the thing 98% of the time domains wanted is a complete joke from both sides. People are ridiculous on the buy and sell side.

The best thing to do is to ignore them if it's upsetting someone that much.

Most names people send suck, FACT, not opinion most names suck. Most budgets are a complete joke, people are hoping that a noob doesn't know what they got and will say aw shucks I will take $50.

It's the get lucky, lottery ticket scratch off section of Namepros.

There are some excellent points in this thread.

The best we have been able to come up with is to offer specific criteria options that can be automatically confirmed before a domain name can be submitted and to improve the ability for buyers and sellers to ignore specific requests or members within that section only.

Those solutions would help, but unfortunately, they're not a perfect solution to this problem and we have yet to hear one.

If you have any other ideas to help or solve the problem (not complaints because we already know about the problem), please share your suggested solutions.

    Thanks.

How about a minimum budget per domain? Be it $25 $30 or whatever. Would eradicate the desperados wanting names for $1 to 3 dollars each. 🙄

Goes for both sides. Buyers want premiums for nothing. And seller's trying to sell pigeon doodoo for premium prices. Also, issues with sellers not reading the criteria for domain requests.

I bet you the majority of people with 5-6 figure requests don't even have 4 figure bank balances.

It is simply fishing, most of them have 0 trader ratings, makes no sense.

I wish there was a better way to verify a legit buyer, but basically look at their trader rating, and activity, that says alot.

Most people are looking for 5 figure domains with a 3 figure budget.
