It really depends where your traffic is coming from. Bodis is the best in industry for Asian traffic. The others could pay you 0.01 USD per click and Bodis is in the 0.05 to 0.10 USD range

You're right. I thought voodoo was better for my portfolio(which is mostly .in domains)but i noticed my CTR and RPC were at least slightly better at bodis. And you're right..your RPC for asian traffic is quite respectable.$0.05-$0.15 is frequent for me at bodis.

My CPC is exactly 0.13 for almost all domains since yesterday. Not sure if this is a glitch or intended feature? So far my average CPC in May was 0.10 so that would be a nice boost if remained this way.

We plan to eventually add a for sale link on the top of the page. It'd be rather big. Sort of like the new ticker you currently see here on Namepros.

Sometimes the smaller links are okay, but the big "sponsored" links usually don't match the domain.

G decides on the ads/keywords to display on each domain name. Many times it is right, other times it is completely wrong. To add to the confusion, they also target based on your past search queries/websites visited. This is called behavioral advertising or interest-based advertising.

So if you were searching for camcorders, then go to a fitness parked domain, you might get adds from Sony or Kodak. They say that this has increased overall revenue in the x% in the domain parking industry.

I think mostly dropping CTR, but increase RPC. However, since it it was implemented across the board, there are definitely certain domains, portfolios, users, and countries that do not see any advantage, but only a disadvantage.

Not sure if this belongs here but Matt, I'd like to set up a domain I have on Zeroclick with you guys. It's currently at Domainsponsor and gets around 8,000-10,000 views a day. Who could I talk to about this?

I do have an account already as well. Just want to make sure it's set to zeroclick when i move it over.

p.s - it's a pity they took off the option to set keywords...

We didn't want to remove keywords but with new terms with our upstream provider, only they wanted to set the keywords. So that is unfortunately what we have to stick with.

...Although I have the vast majority on Bodis and am happy with them, there were a few names I had to take off because the bodis program they are using set them to an adult theme which it was not...

They will force that stuff on you and no amount of trying to get it off will work, s I just take the names off. I am no prude and have select names that use adult keywords but these were domain names that did not have an adult connotation...

The adult template can be adjusted from the Manage Domains section. However, the classification once again is set by our upstream provider. And this is actually the case with all G parking companies. They all use the classification set by G because that is the standard agreement.

We can change it, however, we'd need you to email the domains to support and then we would pass it manually to G to update the classification.

Their system is a bit primitive when it comes to adult domain names.

Does anyone happen to know if Bodis has a pink template? I have a pink keyword domain with some traffic that's underperforming at Voodoo (no pink template) that I'd like to try at Bodis.

I don't seem to be able to preview any of the templates from the domain management area or I wouldn't need to ask. When attempting to preview, the page displays groupon or some other affiliate site and then times out.

The closest ones to pink that we have are:

Humor
Celebrities
Clothing
Cosmetics

Also one of the adult ones. :D


I see the issue with the preview button now. I will have that fixed to make sure that doesn't use our ZeroClick. Thanks for the finding that bug, must've been a recent update that somehow triggered it.

We don't offer login over SSL but contemplate adding it as optional via a tick of a checkbox.

The problem we've had once is that there was an issue with the SSL handshake with a really reputable company (GeoTrust), and all of our Asian users were not able to access Bodis for over 3 days until we replaced it.

Fact is, we try to minimize relying on third party software as much as possible because it is one thing when something goes wrong on our end, but another when some third party has issues.

Also, knowing how little SSL really helps in terms of "security", I decided to remove it altogether from the log in.

Most passwords and information stolen is from spyware/viruses, and SSL would not help in that instance.

Feel free to give suggestions I can always reconsider. :tu:

The earnings at DomainSponsor are not fantastic, about 1/3 to half that of Voodoo. Moreover, if you are new, you need to wait up to 90 days for a traffic quality check, before they will disburse any funds to you. But granted, my acct. manager called me personally to walk me through their interface and optimization settings which is a + for them.

i think bodis.com lost its edge - does not pay nearly what it used to - i had to move names away because they pay better other places - it is always good to test different services and choose to once that fits your needs the best .

Bodis is still the best for asian traffic. I am not sure about non asian traffic.

Matt, I saw that you allow wire transfer to bank. I put my indonesian bank account over there. Is the foreign bank account listed in bodis must be in dollar? Will banks simply automatically exchange money.

If not, I'll do the leg work and set up a dollar account too. However, if you can wire me like you normally would and banks will automatically exchange the currency, which is what I expect, then I prefer putting rupiah account there.
