Bitcoin surged past $20,000 for the first time ever and blew through $21,000 after that. Will this spark greater interest in Bitcoin, Crypto and Coin names? Many see this rally a tad different because it’s being driven by interest from institutional investors — rather than speculation by small-time traders, according to CNBC. There have been […]

Even with Bitcoin going on and beyond 20k there should be NO surge in related domains BUT I’m sure it will

I wonder what this means for other types of the alternative assets like domains generally. I at this moment have the feeling Bitcoin "steals" the show for the domain industry. And this is much more important issue than the impact on crypto-domains. On the other hand many investors will materialize the wins into hard $$$$ before a bubble will crash looking for new investment opportunities.

Can we expect synergies in the domain market? And does this not also depend on our efforts?
I’d say Bitcoin does not “steal” the show from the Domain Industry ..it only highlights Domain Industry

I think beyond Bitcoin, Crypto and Coin domains we might start to see more interest in Defi, Stable Coin and NFT domains (all have threads here on Namepros) which might/hopefully lead to some decent end user sales in these niches......

Let's wait (hope) and see......

I was offered a bitcoin many years ago in exchange for a cheap camera lens I had listed on a marketplace.

I told the guy I wasn't interested in pretend money.

tons of people gonna get richer off btc...assuming they sell at right time.. which is nothing more than a Casino bet... but truth remains way more folks lost money on btc than made money.. fact...ruined tons of lives... which makes a real bad investment... it's all whale controlled foko anyway .. when high majority owns most an asset then eventually u get screwed

anyway never buy btc unless u were taking that money to a casino anyway

but... I'm happy for those who will make easy money on it...good price now... those folks are sadly much fewer than those who lost money...

if I had a few bitcoins I'd definitely cash out now... use money to buy good domains.... way safer investment than this super ai algorithm called btc running at cern which is created exclusively to grab whatever cash folks have around world and feed into the rich folks...

it's really an amazing algorithm. but that's all it is.

happy sales

Will prices continue to rise?

I think the price increase are on only bitcoin and bitcoin related domains. I haven't seen any serious movement on other cryptocoins or on the related domains.
So, the trend is likely to surge again on bitcoin domains

I don't think there is a correlation between bitcoin price and demand for bitcoin related domains.
Usage popularity of bitcoin can affect value of bitcoin domains.
Usage popularity and price don't have strong correlation in my opinion.

Inquiries and offers will increase much more once the retail FOMO starts. The current price rise seems to be fueled largely by institutional interest, billionaires, companies like MicroTrader replacing their USD treasury with BTC and issuing debt to buy more BTC, etc.

Retail investors tend to follow the narrative on mainstream news/finance outlets and BTC only starts getting positive coverage once it breaks all time highs, which is currently happening. They are told BTC is dead and not to buy it at $6k, but to sell everything and buy BTC when it's $20k+. A good gauge of retail interest is Google Trend Interest Over Time, which is starting to rise to levels not seen since 2017.

This bull market is going to surprise a lot of people like always, and Bitcoin/Crypto domains will do very well. The world has never seen a worldwide decentralized system go mainstream and there will 10-100x the demand for these domains, and a lot of those people will be newly rich with money burning holes in their pockets.

Check out our domains at Satoshis.Domains and see our listing here:

I recall some seller of garbage Bitcoin related dot coms at NamePros saying a couple of years ago that once Bitcoin took off again his domains would sell. Well, Bitcoin has more than taken off again over the past two years and his garbage domains never sold.

I don’t think the garbage crypto related domains that sold three years ago will unload so easily this time around. Buyers now realize that the real money is in the crypto itself or in really good coin related domains in top prefixes not garbage ones.
I agree, but its domaining fundamentals- Garbage never sells....they're the trash bags we must avoid catcing or holding...even garbage LLL.coms sell for depressing prices, garbage domains are always garbage domains and they always command garbage prices.
