Bitcoin surged past $20,000 for the first time ever and blew through $21,000 after that. Will this spark greater interest in Bitcoin, Crypto and Coin names? Many see this rally a tad different because it’s being driven by interest from institutional investors β€” rather than speculation by small-time traders, according to CNBC. There have been […]

There sure is, I am selling Coin/Token/Crypto names like crazy the past 2 months. Just today I sold a Crypto[Keyword].net for $2995.

I got into domaining when Bitcoin broke $1000 and I realized the value of purely digital assets. My first big sale was a crypto-domain right after the previous bubble burst, which I assumed was an individual who liquidated bitcoin and needed somewhere to put the money. I sold another four figure .org to a crypto project. My expectation is more such sales will come in January and February. Recently I got some education in leveraged crypto trading, and I can tell you that many people have certainly made massive gains this month.

To many extensions in play in this space that crypto users default to .co .io .org .finance etc... so locking down sales takes some of the best quality sometimes.. as they can raise billions on a .finance if need be. I think many are more focused on just pushing their alt coins right now, but as the industry matures hopefully some of these great crypto names in waiting get bought up, and used.

I recall some seller of garbage Bitcoin related dot coms at NamePros saying a couple of years ago that once Bitcoin took off again his domains would sell. Well, Bitcoin has more than taken off again over the past two years and his garbage domains never sold.

I don’t think the garbage crypto related domains that sold three years ago will unload so easily this time around. Buyers now realize that the real money is in the crypto itself or in really good coin related domains in top prefixes not garbage ones.

btc has been there b4 ....at 20k... and look what happened in years since...all the way to 4k if I remember well..

but that's the prob with btc...owners have zero control over its value... predictability... etc ...

that being said I think for btc names to reach higher prices btc will need to become way more stable asset... now it's just whales making more money

sometimes I cant help but think btc is this mega ai algorithm designed to make world population even poorer and rich richer... and on the whole and avg that is exactly what it's doing.

I had an Afternic inquiry come in yesterday on a crypto domain. A crypto inquiry is something I've yet to experience.

I wonder what this means for other types of the alternative assets like domains generally. I at this moment have the feeling Bitcoin "steals" the show for the domain industry. And this is much more important issue than the impact on crypto-domains. On the other hand many investors will materialize the wins into hard $$$$ before a bubble will crash looking for new investment opportunities.

Can we expect synergies in the domain market? And does this not also depend on our efforts?

What’s stealing the show are the apps on the phone ...

Hehe, I wanted to buy a few when it was nearing $4k but it bounced at $4.2k or so IIRC. No big deal, I generally have much better returns on domains anyway. Now if I listened 5 years ago and bought some for $200...

[edit] I do have a couple M dogecoin though. Waiting for it to reach a dollar parity. :xf.grin:

I’ve gotten three $500 to $3k offers this week. One buyer says seriously considering my 9k price if able to gather funds.

I would say yes, interest is rising.

I was offered a bitcoin many years ago in exchange for a cheap camera lens I had listed on a marketplace.

I told the guy I wasn't interested in pretend money.
$23k
