Bahamas.tv dropped this morning and was caught by Pheenix

(Pheenix do seem very good)

I thought the name was a premium and so far the only premium nabbers have been Name.com and Hexonet

Do we now have a third premium nabber?

If so, is this the end of the surety of the domain nabbing system? Or a more fair system?

A Name.com backorder used to be a sure winner but I recall a small geo .tv drop within the last several weeks where my Name.com backorder got beaten. At this point I have enough .TV and while there are occasional drops like this one, the drop list quality is nothing compared to 2009 early 2010 IMO.

Pheenix and subregistrars grab premiums at drops months now

Not new news. This has been occurring for quite some time. They took Military.tv and quite a bunch other premiums. They are grabbing names for themselves and not taking on any individual customers.

The biggest issue is that the registrar owner is an investor and names will not be able to transferred to another registrar if they are sold. It poses a large risk if the investor goes AWOL and/or there is some issue with the registrar. Your name is stuck there. This is why this model has problems for the outside public.
