This doesn't bode well for Nominet. Their system is supposedly "better" than
the UDRP due to its appeal feature.

On the other hand, so far only 1 panlelist instead of more presided over this
dispute and that of game.co.uk.

even though it was registered before the Mac maker announced its online music service.....

Bullshit. We've been over this before. Kieren McCarthy has it wrong in that article:

http://webdb4.patent.gov.uk/tm/number?detailsrequested=C&trademark=2249936

Filing Date: 24.10.2000

Domain Name:
itunes.co.uk
Registered on: 07-Nov-2000

Notice that Apple's application filing date PRECEDES the registration of the domain name.

That's no accident, but you can believe what you want.

I think the same, although there is a possibility because Itunes.co.uk is a nice name.

The TM lodgement date is October 24, 2000. The domain name was registered November 7, 2000.

Some of you may think Apple's being greedy about it. But if they let it go just
like that, they run the risk of getting their trademarks diluted, and all that
they invested on (marketing, advertising, R&D, etc.) will go to waste.

What company will allow that to happen?

John, thanks for the reminder (even though some won't appreciate it).

I have to agree with dave, I mean they spent hundreds of millions, who would let that go down the drain?
