Now that .APP is rolling out I thought I'd share a little of our position in .APP domains. I'd love to know what others are doing.

We budgeted just shy of $100k for .APP domain registrations. Several we've already acquired and several we've missed. I'll update our pickups as I can without giving away our position. So far I will share that we picked up:

• Wedding.app

Trademark Claim
I do have a domain that we registered that has to pass their trademark claim process... it is very generic, not sure who decided to try to call it a trademark, we shall see.

Our Why
To sum it up, Google is our why. I became a domainer back in 2000, when the domain really mattered in SEO. My hunch is that Google won't be able to resist giving some type of preference to quality .APP domain.

Even a small advantage in the SERs or even the Play App Search results, make generic .APP domains valuable.

I also tried facialrecognition. Thought that one would be easy peasy but nope, got "GoDaddy'd"

takeout.app was on my list. im in the US never heard the term "takeaway." after you registered that i went for drivethru.app. fastfood.app was also taken

'Takeaway' is a UK thing. Someone might say 'Tonight I'm going to order a takeaway' or 'Can I order some food for takeaway'. It looks like it might be an Australian thing too according to Google Trends.

I reckon that the fast food ones could be gems in this extension, the market it growing like mad right now...

There are a lot of searches for [Take Away] and [Take Out]. I reg SpanishFood - JapaneseFood and GreekFood.app. I almost reg ChineseFood but waited a day too late. I'll never learn.

However you think about it - the point is, it (has the great advantage that it) is hard to forget (and that ironically / exclusively / exactly because of its "criticizable point", the double "v").

Until it will be possible to list .app - domains at / offer them via @Sedo, I will use it as a forwarder.

OK how do you get your precious .app domains to a landing page?

activating the ssl certificate & changing the dns doesn't seem to make it happen.

Redirecting to the Undeveloped offer page didn't work either.

any other proposed methods?

Anyone still waiting to find out if they got a domain? I have 1 GoDaddy preorder that I know they grabbed but have not been notified if its mine or it's in an auction. It's not in my GD account but this was one I didn't think anyone else would go for.
