Hello NamePros!
By popular demand, we have launched a dedicated feedback thread for Afternic, the GoDaddy-owned domain name marketplace.

We have created this thread as a way for you to tell us what works, what doesn't work, and what features you'd like to see at Afternic (please be constructive with your feedback). We're looking forward to hearing from the domain investment community to help us shape the future of Afternic.

We will also be sharing Afternic product updates in this thread.

Please note that this thread is not meant for support. Please email our support team at [email protected] for assistance.

I'm just the opposite.

I've never had a BIN thru afternic...only negotiated sales. I must give credit to a stellar broker (still there) that achieved the second highest sale for me in mid xx,xxx range.

I have no data points for Make Offer... but 50% of my sales are Afternic BINs. Let me ask you - honestly now - when you price your BINs are you pricing high? Or another way to ask... when your MO sales come in - are they higher or lower than you would've priced them for?

My MO names have starting points at 500, 1K or 5K. BIN names (above 1K) are priced at what I would consider 80% of retail. The names lower than 1K are priced at 299, 499 or 799. There are not a great deal of the lower priced ones, so that factors in for the lack of sales.

Domains under $5k - Bin lander
Everything else: lead gen form.

So sick of this. Taken a lot of time going through names on a one by one basis only to see some of them go into pending review

I just had 30 names randomly go into review for no apparent reason. Taking the soufflé approach and not touching anything for the moment…

But how many sales come directly from a BIN lander? Should be very low number. Most are reg path

Reg path / Premium Network
MO
Bin

Should be like this or not?

My sales have been through the landers. Only recently switched the the $5k and below listed domains to BIN lander after seeing confused leads.

Tired of the perpetual bugs......

A few weeks ago when "boost" started I removed the BIN from all of my domains. Hundreds. That action sent all of my domains to "in review". Whatever.

Over the next week that number dropped to 8 domains. These same 8 domains would randomly end up "in review" from time to time over the years.

I would contact support, they'd remove the "in review" status, and it would be OK until it randomly happened again at some random date for some unknown reason that no one could ever explain to me. I'd contact support and the same removal of "in review" would happening and then randomly return AGAIN. Round and round we went for a LONG LONG time over those 8 domains.

So when these 8 domains didnt leave the "in review" a few weeks ago I just said to myself: Screw it, I am tired of going round and round with support over these 8 domains and so many other issues. So I've ignored it.

Its bad enough that I MUST list ALL of my domains at Afternic, regardless if I want to sell them or not, because of some "bug" (or is it a feature) which forces us to list all of our domains otherwise we run the risk of someone else listing them. Lets also not forget about the multitude of errors at the main GD site...

Today, I check my portfolio - mainly because I dont trust AN with my data, and what do I see? 4 additional domains are now "in review" making 12 total. WHY??????

I havent performed ONE EDIT to any of my domains since removing the BIN from all domains weeks ago. So why??????

This leaves me with ZERO TRUST regarding data storage and safety at Afternic.

If a database can not retain the values a customer has added to it then this indicates there is a massive IT problem, among other issues since its gone on this long.

I have to ask: Is this happening to me only? To others too? Is this happening to only the BIN field or is other data, that we're supposed to trust the database to store and keep, going to revert or change to some completely unknown value?

How can anyone trust this company/site/service?????

This in Review thing happens a lot and it makes me send an email. They quickly fix it but it keeps coming back

No, you're not alone. The other day, I conducted a test and removed the prices of all my domains, which then caused all of them to go into review status.

The price settings were an attempt to move everything out and only receive offers because many were showing the message "This domain is registered, but may still be available." This is even though none were in review at that time.

Afternic has always been a decent platform for me, but I am now questioning my decision to remain with them. I've contacted them to get help in sorting out this mess.

I suggest all members verify their domains randomly, as many show up with the message above, even though they are not in review.

You need to get in touch with your agent, if you have one, to fix it for you. I think there's a bug running around that does that sometimes.

I had 40+ in review, emailed them and they fixed them, next day 14 in review, then 18 and now 19 in review as I'm done emailing them. If it works it works if not oh well. I don't point to their landers so if the MLS works it works if not Sedo MLS working fine so their loss. Not gonna email again as it's been bouncing up/down in review for a good week which just eliminates me from ever trusting to point them there. NamePros, Efty, Sudos, Atom White Label, Sedo etc... just works so don't wanna keep checking Afternic to see my daily changing "In Review" status for no apparent reason.

I believe they said they were going to look for a fix to this in review problem in 2025 lol

To do list for Monday:

Call Afternic again to remove 31 "In Review" domains. Gotta love starting week after week battling with this supposed "robust" platform.

I have almost 900 domains that are now in 'In Review' status. From what I understand, when a domain enters this status and Afternic nameservers are set, the domain shows the message, 'This domain is registered, but may still be available.' At the same time, the option to buy it at a fixed price disappears, and the only choice left is to use GoDaddy's broker services. I don’t understand how this could happen by mistake. It seems like a deliberate move to help the broker division make more money, especially at the end of a reporting period, even if it hurts domain owners.

Yeah, they have set the issue to 'in review' in their system. It's easier that way as there will be 20 other things to fix at the same time.
