Hello NamePros!
By popular demand, we have launched a dedicated feedback thread for Afternic, the GoDaddy-owned domain name marketplace.

We have created this thread as a way for you to tell us what works, what doesn't work, and what features you'd like to see at Afternic (please be constructive with your feedback). We're looking forward to hearing from the domain investment community to help us shape the future of Afternic.

We will also be sharing Afternic product updates in this thread.

Please note that this thread is not meant for support. Please email our support team at [email protected] for assistance.

For those who use your landers, would it be possible to know if sales comes from landers or from network ?

My lead center is frozen too but I can't tell if it's a bug in the system or simply there is no new leads because my portfolio isn't big enough to have frequent leads.

If anybody else with a big enough portfolio is experiencing this issue please comment so the issue gets identified and fixed.

I got a couple of leads yesterday and also today -- they are all in status "Qualifying"

Pricing Display Error

I just noticed that one of my names is displaying a different price on the sales lander and when searched in GoDaddy than the correct price that is set in Afternic. In other words, when I view the name in Afternic it shows one price (the correct one). The price on the sales lander or when searched in GoDaddy is different.

I'd be very surprised if this is the only name with this problem or if my account is the only one impacted. I'm going to check other names in my account now.

It feels like a synch issue. I did a CSV update a day or two ago. I suspect that I need to do another one in hopes of correcting it.

I'm already looking forward to the final migration of at least 2.5 million domains with active DAN landers that will also going to experience this kind of misery at Afternic and GoDaddy.

Yup, seen this on a lot of names. Deleting and adding seems to fix. A major pain. Seems to be mostly names registered at dynadot
For the names that do this, search for them at GoDaddy and try to purchase. If it tells you the domain isn't available, and the domain is at Dynadot, it's probably the same issue I was having last week.

I Dynadot should be addressing this issue too, because it seems to be mainly affecting their registrar.

Have you tried setting the price at Dynadot? Maybe there's some sort of conflict with the AN price and the Dynadot AN price? Just a thought.

I noticed this issue again on Saturday for about 15 of my domains that are registered at Dynadot. I deleted and then re-added them to Afternic and that seemed to fix the issue when I checked the landers about 5 minutes later. However, the next day I checked these same domains and again the issue was back with the wrong lander being displayed. I didn't do anything this time. I checked this morning and the issue was still happening. When I checked just a few minutes ago the landers were displaying the correct landers.

These Afternic issues are very frustrating. I'm seriously considering switching all my domain landers to NamePros, Atom, or Sedo at this point. The only thing stopping me is not wanting to pay 30% when a name sells through GoDaddy or one of their distribution partners.

It may be a Dynadot problem however. @Caleb Tweed Have you heard of this issue that appears to be affecting your connected FT domains with Afternic?

- For the past 3 days in a row, I have added some domains, updated LTO, and pointed them to Afternic Nameservers, then tested them and all resolved with no issues. However, after ~12 to 24 hours, when I visited my domains, they all displayed the message "This domain is registered, but may still be available". So, I ended up deleting and relisting them again.

This issue hasn't happened daily since last week but I can't say it's fully resolved because I still encounter it from time to time. And every day or so I see some domains "not mine" still affected with this issue.

- A name that was previously listed on Afternic for a different price than mine, after I verified, listed, and tested it, it's working fine displaying the correct price and landing page. However, after ~12 to 24 hours, when I visited this domain, it displayed the old price while the name had the new price in my account! and I ended up deleting and relisting it again.

This issue still happens and moreover, when I update the price of a domain and check it, it displays the new price correctly. However, after ~12 to 24 hours, when I visited the same domain, it displayed the old price while the name had the new price in my account! And when I checked the GoDaddy search, it displayed the new price but the LTO for the old price!

Here's an example:

A name already listed for $1200 with LTO for $100/12months, if I updated the price of this name to $2400 for example, here's what happens:

- If you checked your domain's landing page after updating the price, it will display the new price of $2400 with LTO for $200/12months "which seems about right!".

- But if you come back later after ~12 to 24 hours you'll find that the landing page is displaying the old price $1200 with LTO for $100/12months and the GoDaddy search is displaying the new price with the old LTO for $2400 with LTO for $100/12months which doesn't make sense at all!

The only fix that worked for me was making an update to the affected listing like disabling and re-enabling LTO.

@GoDaddy This is so frustrating and time-consuming whether you have a large portfolio or even 1 domain. We can't keep up with double and triple-check every listing/edit every day.

This thread has become a daily complaint routine of the very basic stuff that used to work flawlessly on Dan. There are serious issues with the backend of Afternic and GoDaddy that need to be addressed and escalated to be resolved permanently ASAP.

Thanks for articulating it so clearly. It's quite an art to do that, as the issues are getting more and more peculiar and need more text to describe precisely.

@GoDaddy FIX YOUR SYSTEMS !!!

I don't think it's related to Dynadot, I had the same issue with names at Dynadot and Porkbun. It's an issue on the Afternic and GoDaddy side.

I am curious to see what feedback the synchronization from DAN to Afternic will bring. Hopefully this project has been thoroughly prepared.

Is there a member from Greece who would make a pilgrimage to the Oracle of Delphi predicting migration success? Herculean qualities are essential on the way there.

Here is something more substantial and positive for a change.

While I've also been thinking for the last few days about which measures will help my portfolio gain more visibility and throughput, a noteworthy LTO deal comes out of nowhere.
This allows me to remain confident and encourages me to rely on BIN+LTO without MO for Afternic. MO was always just an invitation to negotiate down my asking price and probably to inflate the management of "stalled" leads.
Also, I will not go along with the current domainers underbidding competition 1,899 USD, 1788 USD etc. A really interested buyer can pay a reasonable price. With LTO, the monthly charge remains low and the buyer can back out at any time. The risk that the domain is returned prematurely with a failed development in the Waybackmachine is borne solely by the seller.
