Hi All! :hi:

By request, we've decided to start a thread dedicated to Sedo. We're looking for invaluable insight into what domainers want and need out of our parking program (and marketplace, of course).

Questions, comments, suggestions, tips are welcome! We're hoping this will be a great discussion about what works at Sedo and what might not (please be constructive and respectful to others in your feedback) so that everyone involved can benefit and learn from it.

TXT verification hasn't been working for 3 days now.

All the domains I have tried to list over the last 3 days are still "pending ownership verification". But normally this process takes a few minutes (if you add the TXT record first and then add the domain to Sedo).

I'm shocked to learn Sedo's tech isn't working. Shocked!

but seriously, you're talking to yourself in here - Sedo personnel haven't responded in here in ages. You have to reach out to their CS directly with issues.

Here the same !
Four days ago two domains went pending with TXT added , i waited 1 hour and nothing changed !!
Then i pointed domains to sedo nameservers and waited 1 hour again nothing changed !!
Now they are sending me reminders and i ignored them ! Fu*k sedo .

For me it worked, but just using the nameservers. But in your case, you need to delist them and have the nameservers pointed to sedo before listing them again.

I coudnt delete them because when i search i coudnt find them, Thay are not appearing at all (disappeared ) .
Case to case different, Your domains maybe hand reg or never been listed at sedo before, or the previous owner deleted them, so its easier .
Mine both been listed at sedo before and the careless owner didn't delete them .

Doesn't matter if they are hand regs or not, if they were listed and not deleted, the nameservers will not work, I was talking about standard listing, which are not listed currently. You can't find them, because they are not listed yet, you will need them to cancel the listings or txt to start working. For me it worked, but just using the nameservers.

That's not really a solution as there is no way to "delete" listings that are actively under TXT code approval, as they are not in your account yet.

The system will also give an error message if you try to resubmit them so you need to wait a few days (or more) for the process to stall and delete itself. Then you can relist.

Yes, they are slow, but they are trustworthy and mostly you can calculate their slowness so that you can do your thing. For european cctks they are the kings and also, there afe some EU individuals/companies who trust only them as a marketplace, because they are EU based and if there will be issues, they think that they can have sort them out if it's EU based. A few years back, I wasn't listing at sedo most of my domains, but I've discovered that even if they provide 10-15% of your sales in a year, excluding cctlds, it's worth it. Hopefully, who will buy them willl develop them and not burry them.

As a side note, regarding their sale, I think that Richard from Namecheap/Spaceship should be in pole position to buy Sedo, with a complete exit from Namecheap and add sedo to spaceship, he has the money, the knowledge and a partial exit from namecheap. Godaddy will be second, they have the money, but I'm not sure that they want to pay now 150-200 millions just to kill it and sedo mls network wont do them so muxh good, they have the afternic network already. But what a crazy idea would be to put Reza from dan.com as number 3 in order to buy sedo? He has part of the money from selling dan, has the knowledge and can finance the rest of the amount, Nederlands and Germany are close, so the relocation would be easy and probably he can bring back some of the guys who helped him at undeveloped/dan. This would conpletly reset the competition.

It does bring legacy costs, legacy tech, and European personnel rules in however, all of which are a tough pill to swallow for any buyer.

90% of european cctlds are sold through sedo abd believe me, namebio doesn't report even 10% of the total. I have customers who specifically asked for sedo transactions, they have their owm long time customers who are buying only through them. They have millions of listing, lots of premium domains that were listed for high prices long time ago and they are not listed anywere else. And they have their registrars network, if it's so easy why do you think that spaceship doesn't have one, dan didn't had one and godaddy had to buy afternic to have one. As we speak, there are lots of registrars who have millions of domains under management and who refuse to be part of a network, so the network posibilities are very limited.
