By popular demand, we have launched a dedicated feedback thread for Afternic, the GoDaddy-owned domain name marketplace.

We have created this thread as a way for you to tell us what works, what doesn't work, and what features you'd like to see at Afternic (please be constructive with your feedback). We're looking forward to hearing from the domain investment community to help us shape the future of Afternic.

Agreed. I called in about this and a rep said all we can do it open another Afternic account and bulk upload all names, again. With all the issues re bulk upload and re-listing, I decided against this method. Afternic, please allow us to change usernames. Mine is from years ago and it needs a change
I was told to do exactly the same thing a few months ago but of course I didn't do it for the same reasons you said as I know issues will arise.

I had this same issue. I deleted a few names, then tried to re-add them and it just gives me an error and says they could not be added. Assigning BIN on pre-add didn't work for me (I was already doing that).

I spent a week going back and forth with support trying to fix it, but they couldn't find anything wrong on their end. They bumped me up to the next level of support, I made a video of it to show them, tried incognito, etc. but nothing worked. Then yesterday I tried bulk upload via CSV file and it appeared to not work, but a few hours later they were added. Still don't know if it was the bulk upload or they finally figured it out on their end.

@GoDaddy When will I finally have the option to change the username I thoughtlessly entered on Afternic when I became a member? This prevents me from sharing my portfolio on Social Media because inevitably the username will be visible. Godaddy and Dan have this option but Afternic does not. Since Afternic is also "A GoDaddy Brand" we should have the option to change it if we want to.

I just noticed a number of my domains are publically listed for a price I did not set or authorize a third-party to to set. Internally, the domain appears fine as it reflects my price but publicaly listed at a different unauthorized price. What caused this error and what is Afternic's policy in the event the name is sold at the unauthorized price?

Excited for an incomplete response 36 hours later followed by a request to complete some useless customer experience survey.

Could you DM us some examples, please?

1) When trying to add a name which is already part of your Afternic portfolio - I am now getting the error message "Verification Required" as opposed to "This name is already in the portfolio" which was displayed earlier. This message appears in red on the screen where pricing is to be added. This makes me nervous whether the software is able to ascertain what is currently verified/in your portfolio and what would have caused this change recently. Anyone else facing this?

2) Is there a time-frame in which all Afternic accounts will have the new features (Filters, Bulk Search etc) available? I am still waiting for those on my account - not sure how rest of the members are faring on this. Checking as it has been ~2 months post this announcement - https://blog.afternic.com/whats-new-june-2024/

For Filters and Bulk search, the roll out has been slower than anticipated to ensure that the service is stable at scale. At the moment, around half of accounts are enabled for filters and bulk search, and this will increase over the next month.

@GoDaddy - I discovered a few domains in my Afternic account that say "Opt-in Required" for the Fast Transfer option. These names have been in my GoDaddy account for years and are all eligible. How do I manually Opt-in for Fast Transfer? Where do I go in my GoDaddy account to do this? Thanks!

By the way, I tried asking Afternic support but did not get the right answer.

Previously this approach worked for me : delist the questioned names and relist them. This should trigger the opt-in emails for FT. However before you do that just in case check your spam folder, the old mails might landed there.

Hey, thanks... I'll give it a shot!

But the names were added to my account many years ago so any email in spam would be long gone.

Is it just me, or "unlist" domain no more works? It shows some unknown error... Domain deletion works though.

Not just you. I reported (above) over a week ago that I have to unlist every name separately using its price update window.
edit: the same problem if I try to list from the not listed category

@GoDaddy

Domain filter search is limited to only 1000 characters which is way too low. You can only search around 30 domains at a time depending on their length which is very limiting and can't really be considered a bulk search. Please remove this character limit.

Also, can you please add an option to search only exact match domains? For example currently if you search domain.com it also shows mydomain.com in the search results which can be problematic and cause unintended changes to the wrong domains when making modifications in bulk.

You don't need to do this, just call Afternic and have them "refresh" your whole portfolio. It will auto-generate the opt-in emails from the registrars. Further, sometimes your names are FT listed, it's just a bug in GD's system that shows opt-in required

Oh, I'm not at all suggesting they know what they're doing over there. All I'm saying is - a total unlist and relist seems a worse use of time than a call.

This is happening to all of my names. Intended price internally but publically listed price is a fraction of intended plus. I have to hit check out to then see my actual price. I cant imagine this being good for business if a customer thinking they are getting a deal proceeds to check out only to be bait and switched when they see the real price from your systems error. Examples: Online.Golf (BIN $100K; Listed $2,450); IndoorGarage.com (BIN $75K; Listed $910).

It would have been nice if Afternic mentioned this when I submitted the question to their "support" team.

The person who picked up at Afternic when I did it was unaware of this "feature" as well. But I was aware of it and asked him to do a refresh of my portfolio. He did. Emails came rolling in from all the registrars right after.

Thanks. I already de-listed then re-listed all the affected names (one name at a time since a bulk edit gave an error) but if I don't get the emails soon I'll give them a call and ask about your suggestion.
