By popular demand, we have launched a dedicated feedback thread for Afternic, the GoDaddy-owned domain name marketplace.

We have created this thread as a way for you to tell us what works, what doesn't work, and what features you'd like to see at Afternic (please be constructive with your feedback). We're looking forward to hearing from the domain investment community to help us shape the future of Afternic.

I had contacted Afternic's support about this issue a few months ago without success, but this time I thought (after your encouraging response) that they might be able to help me but they didn't. Why do you give me hope to believe that there may be a solution when you know from the beginning that nothing can be done to help me? To show that you are willing to help me? That's worse because now I'm even more disappointed

You don't need to do this, just call Afternic and have them "refresh" your whole portfolio. It will auto-generate the opt-in emails from the registrars. Further, sometimes your names are FT listed, it's just a bug in GD's system that shows opt-in required
Bro. i had the same issue with 24 domains , 20 with godaddy , 2 namecheap , 2 dynadot .
i called afternic and they refresh the whole portfolio , next day received emails from namecheap and dynadot to activate the opt in fast transfer . and done .
The 20 domains with godaddy still nothing happening , so next step i have deleted the whole 20 and relist it again and still NO opt-in email from godaddy !!!! ( all domains passed 90 days in my account and even more ) !
Godaddy really sucks this days and i dont understand this issues is related to godaddy or afternic !
Seems i have to leave godaddy soon .

@GoDaddy, sold a domain on 21 August for 5K, held at GoDaddy and under transfer lock. I've contacted TA regarding the lock right after the sale and haven't received any reply so far. Can you kindly look into it? A week is passing by and the domain needs to be transferred ASAP.

Instead of focusing on gimmicks like "boost" train sales agents to keep seller informed of any changes in offers from buyer even if increase hasn't met the floor - especially if the increase is 75% over previous offer.

If I'm asked if I want to sell at the first offer well below my floor because seller said they won't pay more but then seller does increase offer 75% after I say they need to come up in price the excuse for not informing me can't be "well still working to see if I can get your floor". You know, sometimes sellers change their minds too. I want afternic to KEEP SELLER INFORMED but all I get is "boost".

Hi @Afternic. Almost all of my domains seem to have somehow ended up offering 60 month installment plans โ€” five years! That is not an option I would have ever selected as it benefits only you, and now there seems to be no way to change it back to something reasonable by default for my acct, like 6 months or something.

Just disable installments in your settings window. Problem solved.

I haven't dared to upload a CSV to Afternic for about a week two weeks now. Is updating prices (BIN/MIN/FLOOR) via CSV currently working properly?

@GoDaddy - I discovered a few domains in my Afternic account that say "Opt-in Required" for the Fast Transfer option. These names have been in my GoDaddy account for years and are all eligible. How do I manually Opt-in for Fast Transfer? Where do I go in my GoDaddy account to do this? Thanks!

By the way, I tried asking Afternic support but did not get the right answer.

Thanks for your question - Afternic's support team should be able to re-trigger the opt-in process for you. I believe I have your Afternic username already, so we'll connect with the Afternic support lead to understand why they weren't able to help out in this case.


Is it just me, or "unlist" domain no more works? It shows some unknown error... Domain deletion works though.

We've escalated this to Afternic's developers, who will investigate today.

@GoDaddy

Domain filter search is limited to only 1000 characters which is way too low. You can only search around 30 domains at a time depending on their length which is very limiting and can't really be considered a bulk search. Please remove this character limit.

Also, can you please add an option to search only exact match domains? For example currently if you search domain.com it also shows mydomain.com in the search results which can be problematic and cause unintended changes to the wrong domains when making modifications in bulk.

If any team was able to help you change your username, it'd be the Afternic support team, which is why we sent you to them.

If you head to your Afternic Dashboard, select multiple domains, then click "Pricing" from the footer toolbar, you'll see a pop-up prompting you to update prices.

Under the "Lease to Own" section, click "Enabled," and select your maximum Lease to Own period from there.

Complained about this last week. Short answer is youre shit outta luck. Need to manually redo them since Afternic/GoDaddy is incompetent.

What kind of bugging bug is this. Afternic keeps logging out after every few mins, whether you enter Afternic through the Godaddy Manage products or independently log into Afternic. In the Afternic portolio section when you click on the profile, it always shows sign in. Few domains which are more than a year/2 year/5 year old are in review with Fast transfer disabled. What kind of issues are these. Twice mailed the service @ afternic. Yet no reply.

It would be nice if "Keep Me Logged In" was a bit more meaningful since, on its face, "Keep Me Logged In" suggests - or clearly indicates - that my session will remain active / I will remain logged in - AT LEAST UNTIL either

1) I purposefully log out; OR,

2) until I close my browser.

The forced / automatic logging out is a bit random and a bit more annoying (as a time waste), given that it shouldn't be technically difficult to either keep me logged in OR make it clear the conditions under which I will be logged out, such as "X minutes" or "Until your close your browser".

Please have the Powers That Be provide either a fix or a longer "time out". Thank you.

Agreed. It used to be longer, but recently it logs out all the time. It is more time consuming for sure. For those that are using computers at home, it really isn't required. Perhaps a toggle so we can choose to "trust" the machine or something similar would be beneficial.

I have solved it for Afternic. It is not a bug, it is a feature.

The hackers will always go to main page and see an expired session even a minute after.

But, wink wink, you are actually still logged in. Just go straight to https://www.afternic.com/dashboard

Ok. So this feature is incorporated to mislead hackers.
But still its not solved for me. When i try to make some changes in a domain like Bin, lander etc., afternic directs me to the Sign in page. And when you are logged in, even in dashboard section it shows Sign in. if you click on the afternic logo in the dashboard section, it directs you to the homepage but then there is no option in the drop down menu to go back to the afternic dashboard.

Hackers have become very shrewd these days. It has become very hard to throw them off. But, not to worry. Afternic has more features masked as bugs down its sleeve.

***UPDATE: The 3 names I was trying, now added, so problem resolved***
(one is now under review, but assume that will go away in a day or two)


Can anyone tell me how to circumvent the bug that verified domain names say they are verified, they give the confirmation after the TXT records were checked. but then say unverified.

i have encountered in past, and just waited next day and went through process again, but this time they still won't list.

In summary, I do this:
1. Try to list. Afternic says need verifying.
2. Already have propagated TXT records for all names I am adding, so check the domain names needing verification, then click verify now, and wait not closing window.
3. It responds that they are now verified and can be added to my account.
4. But it still shows unverified, so try listing again, go through steps 1 to 3 infinitely (okay a few times, but trending towards infinity).

I am using the most up to date version of Mac Chrome, but have tried doing it with and without Incognito mode, have tried logging out and restarting multiple times, have tried waiting the next day, etc.

I have successfully verified hundreds (?) of names using TXT verification at Afternic. This is a new bug that has emerged the last few weeks (?). It used to be intermittent, but now seems to never allow. It is like Afternic don't want our names!

I am boosted, both Afternic and my vaccine status, in case that matters. :xf.grin:

Please, if anyone has a solution๐Ÿ†˜, I hate this wasted time๐Ÿ•ฐ๏ธ.

By the way, what to do, and how to be more efficient, is the NamePros Blog column this week. This is not the way.

I am glad to hear that Afternic's priority is on sales in 2024, and will be improving operational features in 2025, but would be nice to solve a few things in 2024.
