By popular demand, we have launched a dedicated feedback thread for Afternic, the GoDaddy-owned domain name marketplace.

We have created this thread as a way for you to tell us what works, what doesn't work, and what features you'd like to see at Afternic (please be constructive with your feedback). We're looking forward to hearing from the domain investment community to help us shape the future of Afternic.

Unfortunately, an entire weekend passed during which the Afternic systems were not monitored for this.

Fast Transfer for this sale was from Porkbun to GoDaddy. I do notice however that the domain is still in my Porkbun account. And when I do a direct query to whois.GoDaddy.com and to whois.Porkbun.com, the domain is in both systems with different owners. Porkbun whois has an updated date of 2024-04-25, not today. All this is usually not the case, and could be related to the problems others have reported with Fast Transfer status.

Lookup.icann.org says the domain is now at GoDaddy.

I'll just wait and see if the sold domain disappears from my Porkbun account and Porkbun whois later today.

Saturday Aug 17 - Congratulations! Your domain, "blablabla.com", has sold via Afternic's Fast Transfer network for $1,995.00.

Sunday Aug 18 - The domain is still in my Dynadot account, unlocked.

Sunday Aug 18 - In my Afternic account, the domain still shows "Transfer in progress", but if I click on it, I can see this: There has been an error transferring this domain.

Sunday Aug 18 - I sent a message to the TA, providing the the AUTH code.

Monday Aug 19 - Good news, the transfer of "blablabla.com" to Afternic has completed!

I am not sure if the transfer success was solved due to my AUTH code or they just fixed something.

P.S. - At the time of the sale, name servers were set to domain.io

@Maged Khatab I remember you had a problem with payout from afternic. Did they resolve the situation? I'm still waiting for intervention related to the domain sold on July 27.

Here is my recent afternic experience.

I decide to adjust the camel case on a few names...doing so has put some of the names in 'review'. This was unexpected as the names have been listed for years.

These wacky, out of the blue things are what keep things so fun at afternic.

ADD: one name is made up! No worries, I've moved them to another marketplace

Yes, after 2 weeks of no response, I received a message from the TA team the same day I sent a PM to @GoDaddy and after 2 days they sent the payout.

Try to reach out to the TA team, if they don't respond, you may contact @GoDaddy for further assistance.

Congrats on the sale and I hope you receive the payout very soon.

Lately in many cases when adding a new domain to my portfolio it is going INREVIEW STATUS !!
Even though the verification TXT is added !! and i have to send email to the support to respond to me next day and fix the issue !!

Seems the afternic automated verification is not working properly anymore !!

Good news! It will all start working and be a part of the new Afternic Boost going live from Sept 4. The unboosted version will remain buggy as a punishment for staying with 15% commission.

Why is the LTO period automatically set to 60 months and how do we reset it to our own preferred period? This basic functionality should be common sense but, as with everything-Afternic related, its needlessly complicated.

You have to manually set it for each name. And it’s not on the main screen when you add so very easy to miss when adding new names.

exactly. an and gd have one of worlds worst ui. it is one trillon years behind dan. good news is they own dan so they can just gather together thr best of gd and an and use dan ui for it all. which is not much gathering at all.

As per the latest DNW podcast #497, they (tech side) are apparently so occupied with migrating DAN to Afternic that they are intentionally postponing all the bug fixes (e.g. random pending reviews) until the migration is finished.

When i sign in into afternic with gd account it directly goes to afternic portfolio where it shows sign out in my account profile.
When i click on Afternic logo in my portfolio, it directs me to afternic homepage. But then there is no provision for going back to afternic portfolio. For that I have to sign in again into afternic to go to my portfolio.

on the boost thread:

Every time I go to Afternic.com I need to login, even if it is just 1 minute later. But, if I go to afternic.com/dashboard/... I am ALWAYS logged in.

Knowing that GD/AN has the best IT team in the world, I am sure this is done for a purpose. But I'd really appreciate if you guys would care to explain to us.

Why does Afternic accept listings of those TLDs that GoDaddy and its (=Afternic's) shopping cart doesn't support? For example, if I try to buy an .fi domain through its AN lander, all I get is an unhelpful error message.

Convinced theyre straight up trolling at this point.

I have tried to change lander page for some names from BIN to Price Upon Request. I select the names, choose the type, click to confirm, get "success" message. But it turns out, upon rechecking, none of the landers changed and all of them retained the BIN lander.

Do I need the boost membership for being able to actually change the settings and not get a fake confirmation? Is this also a part of the package? Can you please disclose the whole list?

At this point, you could include access to Afternic panel into Boost package or even Boost+ with 85% to GD and 15% to sellers.
