After 3 years, I think it might finally be time to take a step back from the domain industry. I will be liquidating most of my portfolio in the coming weeks. I would be willing to make myself available for some individual consultations but I will largely be focusing on other projects.

There are 2 things that I think are worth emphasizing before I go:
  1. This industry needs to change. There are too many leaches. Everyone is trying to sell something that you don't need. Realize that free isn't free and most paid products are not needed. Some tools are worth the subscription fee but most domainer to domainer services and products are crap.
  2. There are too many domain "gods." Sure, they have made some money but look deep enough and you'll quickly learn that most know only a little more than you. They are just good at gift wrapping crap. Stop following and start leading.

So if you want a free piece of advice or would like to know about my hopes, dreams, and aspirations... post below. I'm an open book.

Otherwise, it's been fun.

Sad news for us, Shane. I'm sure you will succeed in every enterprise you be in, only because you have accumulated a lot of good karma points.

It's a smart decision. You dont want to be staring at endless domain lists, writing a master's thesis, plus your other projects. Something has to give. Good Luck.

Good luck, @Shane Bellone!

I am sure you will succeed at whatever you put your mind to.

Domain investments are not the best option for high skill specialists that have higher value of $ per hour.

I am intending to semi-automate most of the stuff and considerably reduce time spent on domain acquisitions and maintenance.

This is the first and only non-Dicker-is-a-criminal thread post I will make. Mods can verify there are no other aliases from my ip address.

If revealing Dicker to the world to be a scumbag and criminal is the only thing you did, it alone would've been a tremendous contribution to domaining. But, we all know you are more than that. You are fearless, speak your mind and stand up for the truth. We are all the better from it. Domaining and every other industry need more people like you. Thank you and best of luck in the future.

Thanks!

I do not think domaining is sustainable in the longterm. I think the market is getting worse and regulation will be coming just like it has with bitcoin. There are too many ways to funnel money out of the country for the government to allow it to continue the way it has been.

But the biggest registrars are in US. I think more money is coming in. Goodluck in future.

I really appreciate your kind words. I always try to do what I feel is right, even though sometimes it doesn't work out for the best.
