Saying Goodbye to my favourite domain!

I got an offer for VURG.com that I couldn't refuse.

My heart wanted to keep the domain but my brain said it's time to say goodbye.

I feel like I have been through a lot with this domain. People used to say that it wasn't worth anything. Now that I am selling it for $850+ they can't say that.

I ended up liking it more than LLLL.com when I had it.

My wife will be happy that I didn't let my heart get in the way of this deal.

Anyone else know what it is like to say Goodbye to their favourite domain?

Goodbye VURG.com.

I'll miss you.

Maybe I'll get lucky.

Hey, Vurg,

Never love anything that can't love you back.

;)

But I know what you mean. I have some domains that I won't sell, unless the price is life-changing.

It might be tough, but its best to leave emotions out of it.

Really nice sale though.

Thanks for all the encouraging words.

It's a brilliant sale. I'm very happy with it.

Years ago I remember reading about an old lady who was so attached to her property that she ended up dying of stress related causes when the neighbours started building a multi-storey building next door. I remember thinking how I never want to be like that. Treating property like people is a destructive behaviour that ruins peoples live. People matter, not property. I always had the attitude when domaining that every domain has a price as there is more to life than any particular domain. Love Domaining though!

Erdinc, I'm not changing my username. I'm very happy with it. I can always buy a Vurg.? in another extension if I want to make a Vurg related website down the track.

you will feel better if you change your username, otherwise you will never be able to let it go.

Seeing as you used VURG even for your forum name it has been close to your heart :)
I had similar experience with dngo dot com which I wanted to use for my own site, but finally decided to sell (also for $800+)

Wow, many nice quotes in this thread, some I found really true and worth repeating:

Don't love domains, if you do you'll get pain.

Never love anything that can't love you back.

Treating property like people is a destructive behaviour that ruins peoples live. People matter, not property. I always had the attitude when domaining that every domain has a price as there is more to life than any particular domain.

That's the rule of life. One comes and other goes. So never be sad.
