Can you set-up a free account with 1and1 to receive a domain push? If so can someone send me the link?

All I can find on their site is an option to get an account by purchasing a package.

I do not think 1and1 offer domain push, I can't see anything about it in my 1and1 (UK) control panel.

This is what 1+1 says:

Does it cost anything to move a domain from one 1&1 Customer to another?

Domain Type Transfer Fee
.co.uk ยฃ1.99
.me.uk ยฃ1.99
.org.uk ยฃ1.99
.com ยฃ8.89
.org ยฃ8.89
.net ยฃ8.89
.info ยฃ8.89
.biz ยฃ8.89
.us ยฃ8.89
.name ยฃ8.89
.net ยฃ8.89
.eu ยฃ8.89

1+1 are crap: transfer out.

:hi:

1and1 does not have free pushing.

You have to pay a 1 year renewal fee.

Transferring domains between accounts is not simple.

Almost everything on 1and 1 involves lenghty or involved processes.

Try to simply turn off automatic renewal- you can't.

Nothing is simple or intuitive.

last time when I contacted them, they said yes. Here is the reply:

Thank you for contacting 1&1 Internet.

No, it doesn't cost anything to change the ownership
of your account.

If you have any further questions, please do not
hesitate to contact us.

Ok, there is a trick word in what she said to you.

The change of ownership is free. I assume she means change the registered owner with of the domain within your account.

Next time ask if it is FREE to move the domain from one 1and1 account to another 1and1 account holder. That process is not free. That is the "push" that everyone talks about.

Do yourself a favor, Read this:

Use Moniker. They are the best around IMO.

I'm in the process of dropping some names from 1&1 which is as tedious as it gets. At least they have appeared to stop requiring you to fax in signed confirmation that you want to drop the name in addition to confirming via email link.

The only names I plan to leave there are those that are developed with no plans of selling.

Hi,

Make sure you do it right.

You cannot just let a domain expire at 1and1.

Exactly.

Don't let even a single domain expire.

Otherwise they will lock All your accounts, ALL your domains, ALL your sites.

The best way is the way out, out of there...

If you need help with the procedure, let me know.

By the way, it seems 1and1 has removed their telephone #
from their site.

even after you successfully transfer any names to GD you must must get the name listings removed from your 1+1 account if you do not want to be billed at the renewal date. you must cancel each and every contract on your account until you have received confirmation from 1+1 admin that it has been done and you are clean. Getting rid of 1+1 is as straightforward as removing dogs*** from your shoe after you have stepped in it.

Thanks. Yeah, I was going through the whole email confirmation process and then faxing the confirmation form in for every single domain package. Now the fax form doesn't even come up when you go through the cancel process so it appears that they have at least done away with that ridiculous aspect of it.

Hi, Funny I found this thread. I am trying to push some domains to new owners and they told me in the past it was free and they just told me tonight it costs $5.00 US.
It is such a long process and the people I've sold the names to are just as frustrated.I will never register another name with 1and1. By the way the phone # is 877-461-2631.

If anyone has any better news about them let me know because I have over 300 names registered with them.

There is no 'better news' ... search on 1+1 in namepros and you will see.
Your only solution is transfer out everything and systematically eliminate all the contracts. You are in the pit of hell. Run. 8-X
