1000s of 3 letter .mobi on closeout at Godaddy.com for $5 each ....

Some interesting ones. Several hours to go on the listings. I guess these will all eventual turn into drops if no one buys them in the next few hours.

I like some of the doubles and a few of pronouncables.

Makes for light domaining entertainment even if you don't buy any of them.

Posted Here so that peeps that don't usually do .mobi who might want to try a few out will have the info.

I have bought about 20+ LLL.mobis from that list... actually it is not 1000s of 3 letter .mobi, it is more than 4000+

I set my proxy bid for each LLL.Mobis I bid on at $45. all of them got more than one bidders and my average won price is $30 (And I need to pay one year reg fee plus). and some names I lost since other biddes pay $50 - 80 for them

No idea what happended for those domains I didn't submit bids. I am sure many of them be bought at godaddy

I simply paid the $5 plus one year renewal and the LLL mobi I wanted (cyu.mobi) is mine. Maybe that only applies to the $5 sale and you're talking about something different?

I believe there are over 2k LLL mobi dropping. I noticed some that were 3 character (letters and numbers) but tons of true LLL.

These were all three LETTER .mobi names....

These were all three LETTER .mobi names and from the looks of it about 4000 of them are now due to drop after running at $10 for 10 days and then at $5 for seven days with NO takers.

In a few weeks they will drop. They may even sit unregistered for a while. Snap my try them or some other service may try them instead of letting them sit unregistered. Someone will take them either thru the drop catch or by simply running their own registrations thru.

Not sure when these drop but I went ahead and paid for the one I wanted. Godaddy sent me confirmation that I won the name but that it would not be posted in my account until Dec. 10. It cost a total of $15 :kickass:

I guess it's time for me to let my single LLL.mobi drop. If there are so many in the wild they are obviously now worthless. 4000 dropped! That's huge and represents about 25% of all combinations. And this is just Godaddy. I suspect that we could be seeing up to 50% of these becoming available. This could mark the end of LLL's as we know it. I suspect .biz and even .info to suffer

I think a lot of the weaker extensions are already starting to feel what will likely only get worse as all the new extensions are rolled out by ICANN.

I wonder if things would have been different for Mtld had they had ".m" as their extension rather than .mobi. Guess we'll never know for sure.

It is mainly one registrant doing mass drops. I wouldn't read too much into it than there is, I expect the decent ones will be gobbled up quick and the junk will languish. One guy dropping thousands of junk domains doesn't mean car.mobi is now worthless. But since I'm on your ignore list you will miss this information.

6 months ago no .mobi investors considered these junk domains... My how things have changed. Mobi is good for dev only at this point imho.

i would have and still do. i've been telling people about the LLL.mobi bubble for a long time now (sometimes in my own LLL.mobi sales threads!)... prices domainers were paying 18 months ago were absolutely insane... $150-200 minimum for any crappy LLL.mobi.. it just did not make any sense to me. supply was destined to exceed demand, it was only a matter of time.. they really just went up wayyyyy too fast to be sustainable.

stay tuned for my experiment.

I don't know how you do it Matt, but I admire you for being successful doing it :)

buy low, sell low, sell many... thats one formula that can sometimes work in volatile markets.

I have considered most random LLL to be junk since the beginning, it's not my cup of tea. The few seemingly random LLL I own actually have specific dev reasons why I bought them.

Looks like I missed a chance to snag a few decent LLL.mobis, I'm not seeing any listed for 5$ at the moment. Oh well, maybe soon someone will start posting the available LLL.mobi list.

I'm glad I only purchased one somewhat crappy LLL. However, I still have a development plan for it so that doesn't matter so much to me.

I did get one off the 5.00 list!

What a collapse! Personally I think people are throwing good money after bad chasing these. It sounds to me like the buyout will not hold, I'm guessing dozens of different buyouts are going to fall over during the next 6 months or so, there was a lot of them that made even less sense than the 3 letter .mobi's.

amazingly, people continue to backorder quantities of even the lowest quality LLL.mobi at snapnames and pool for $59ea.. i imagine its people that arnt members of any domain forums though.

i think LLL.mobi will eventually be bought out again though if they become available to register for more than a couple seconds which is currently the case. hell, i would even consider doing it if i thought the time was right. resellerclub was having a $5.88 sale a few months back... that would be tempting but still pretty risky.
