Why "the new gTLDs haters" lose hours and hours in new gTLD discussions???

If there is a bad news for new gTLDs, "the new gTLDs haters" tell us that the news is true...
If there is a good news for new gTLDs, "the new gTLDs haters" tell us that the news is false...

And these haters work like as a team...
And I have the feeling that the new gTLD discussions are very very very important for them. Why???

Why they lose so much time if they are not investors????

If you are a new gTLD hater, this question is for you:
Why you lose hours and hours in new gTLDs discussions???
And why this topic is very important for you???
Of course, you know why but you can not tell us the truth... :)

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
It depends on major international companies also... as of now they are using only .com + ccTLDs...

Yes, and there is still lots of businesses will be created; and those people that understand business they will be more likely to purchase great name for their business. And I think ICANN's and registras can create some kind of laws. That don't used the name for your businees if you didn't buy it. I seen some start up company using name they don't.own

You are correct in 2014, many good keywords were still available for reg fee, 2015 a little bit less, and 2016 even less.

They have created a master list of keywords they just block, or mark premium, so when a new extension rolls out, they may mark it premium, and revisit it later for removal, or price reduction.

I see you are attempting to list many gtld's on namepros with little success, I have seen many gtld's here which people paid hundreds of dollars in EAP, or premium renewal resell for pennies on the dollar.

I don't envy what is ahead of you with that size of portfolio, and some of your keyword selection, against your upcoming renewals.

Sorry for being blunt, but nobody in their right mind is going to pay what you are asking for at namepros:

Advanced.Center 9600 $
FreeSms.Center 9600 $
LuxuryHotels.Center 2400 $
Pirate.Center 1800 $
Premier.Center 9600 $
Subscribe.Center 4800 $

Yeah, not likely on NP 1/10 or less @wholesale market
I think Premier.Center is your best, if you want to get your price this year pay Unireg/broker to shop it
a couple of others could be put up for lease
without aggressive outbound 2-5yr hold with no guarantees
other auction sites w/out marketing @wholesale 20-25%

There is zero end user @ NP.
Reg fee yes.

  • I bought - News.social via an expired auction.
  • I pay for the domain name, it renews.
  • The domain goes into my account.
  • I was excited since I wanted a News.tld domain for a project for awhile.
  • I check previous registrant, it was Name marketing team.
  • I'm nice, I email the marketing dept. asking if they want it back, if not I will use the domain.
  • 1 week later Scott McBreen, takes the domain out of my account
  • I get a paltry account credit
  • Scott McBreen believes this is the 1940s, him and Rightside/Name = FBI, and he can take whatever he and his company wants from Japanese-Americans - http://www.densho.org/
  • He licks his chops since Rightside is secretly using money from premium domain registrations to build new Japanese-American internment camps with gas chambers and ovens. He's leading this effort.
  • Jared Ewy calls me and says I can have the name back, if I do marketing video with Name/Rightside about the colossal F$@$-up.
  • I try to call Scott McBreen and leave a message, he refuses to call me back.
  • I try to call Jared Ewy back many times to try to be reasonable about the situation, he will only leave messages on my phone.
  • He admits in one of his messages he doesn't pick-up numbers from my US area code, WTF?
  • I decide I don't need to be a donkey/horse with a dangling a carrot (News.social) in front of me
  • I have nothing against donkeys/horses. At least they are honorable creature unlike the F$@-sH$#ts at Name/Rightside
  • I take a positive review of Name down from my website and remove any mention or positive mention. The review still had good SEO rankings.
  • I transfer most of my domains out of Name and will NEVER do business with Rightside
  • I post here
  • I HATE new gTLDs and write to several people explaining the situation who own Rightside extensions. They decide to stick with .COM.
  • Will only build on .COM/.ORG and ccTLDs in the future
  • Will tell everyone F#%%^ I can what a mistake new gTLDs are, and my story, to anyone that will listen for YEARS

Any auction data from China should be heavily scrutinized before taking it at face value. Perhaps you're not familiar with how auctions operate in China?

Both the buyer and seller have the option of walking away from the sale for a small fee.

"In China both seller and buyer get small penalty for goofing off or just changed mind". Not a bad idea; if it was my auction my fee for changed mind and goofing off would be solid 15% for changed mind and 15% for goofing off. The total of 30% of the actual price of item that should have been sold.

Why fight about it... Just see who is right in a course period of 5 years. ;)

Cant lose hours here but to break it down, I think it comes as follows.

A lot of people are here to teach, as well as LEARN.

Its easy for a day one domainer to think they hit the jackpot when they see - Rollercoasters.jigilypuffs and they think they just got a one word domain, and they relate it to a rollercoasters.com

The make up of any good argument is both sides of the coin. Extensions are only to be played with if you are to the level where you know what your doing, which is not what i am claiming, (I wont be one for say 3 5 more years, and i cant wait to see that point, however if I go for a 30 cent promo which will renew at 50 on somthing so crazy, I will never see that day.

The way people that have made it work is that they go for one good domain at a time, that they can promote to businesses for a reason. - This relates to any factors, (Length, history, traffic etc.)

Most importantly they go for things that are sellable by action, not on fate. While yzx.xyz might sell for alot, No sustainable business has other extensions than .com / net / org (even info can be considered a main ext) but lets break it down,

If you go to forbes and look at say the top 2000, I am almost positive you will find very little with even .net or org , let alone .kiwi.

Another thing is (in my own opinion) These domains are worthless because say you bought sell.kiwi and paid a 250 dollar premium, your name is no more valuable than the other sell."extension" That drop every single day,

It's like asking why someone is using facebook instead of an unknown network, sure furture can hold the key as we have seen with facebook, but companys dont want random extensions, its all about that "Radio pitch" Good luck if you just got a lawyer to defend you from NYCCheapLawyers.bingo

One last thing, think first hand , before you were a domainer...

If you saw a product you want etc, You type that brand ....com , what if you own anthropology.xyz, could you ever see yourself in a better position than anthropology.com?

Lastly - This is added after, no two extensions mean the same thing... Auctions is cool, if your doing auctions, but this is not as easy when you look at some of the others. .co is not just a cool shortened version of com it stands for Columbia. If you have a business that is not from columbia, you are out of luck, as you will not get any traffic, other than typo mistakes.

You are looked at by google as a columbian website, and sadly, disregaurded. Com is age old, Sure there can be a breakout, but its not likely.

still better than the poor lawyer that could only afford a .fail domain.

honestly though, in the eyes of the public who pay 200 for shoes but are on food stamps, its all about presentation, and if a true company cant spend the money on a real domain name, then they are bound to fail, and lets be real here. if they need to buy a weird extension because the .com is taken there are two avenues, - They dont have any real budget (Redflag) / Domain is used by a business (Redflag)

Nobody would go and refinance their home at RhodeIslandCheapMortgageRefinance.com either !

However, I would refinance my properties at RhodeIsland.mortgage
