Chinese LLLL.com bubble!?

Is it a somewhat good estimate that
chinese LLLL.com premiums are at at least $1billion value today?
Unlike Number .coms chinese premium LLLL.com boomed in value in a very short period.
Will they hold their value or is it the biggest BUBBLE ever seen in domains?

Even non-chinese quad and triple premium LLLL.coms has meaning. Take any 4L and there are some small companies or organisations that use same acronym (usually too small to buy it though).

As I understand, correct me if I wrong, in Chinese some words need 2 letters to make acronym.

ZX - Online
SH - Shanhai
KJ - Tech
SJ - Data
etc, etc. etc

So english company named Miami Data Tech would require mdt.com domain, in Chinese Shanhai Data Tech would require SHSJKJ.com! And you tell that most of chinese 4l domains are meaningless?

Not necessarily SHSJKJ,more likely SHKJ, or even sh tech. But again, nobody knows for sure as picking a name is part of the brand identity design and process.

For one of my 6N.coms (triple number in a row, no "0" and no "4") I had BIN which I forget to update. It was on Afternic. Few days ago I checked email and noticed it was sold. I was pissed off, but no way I would deny to transfer. Buyer get the domain immediately as it was not his fault that I didn't update BIN.

I agree with you but I have found people don't care about their account being closed versus underselling.

Then I added some known to me acronyms, provinces and we have 155 unique combos that do have meanings. So there are only 245 combos which meanings may not exist. But I think all combos have some meaings.

Now only imagine how easy npkj.com suits technology company located in Nanping - small chinese city with 2 millions people. what about imaginary npgl.com? We don't know what gl is. Perhaps it means factory, or medicine, or circus, or newspaper or anything else.

My note is only to those who tell that these chips don't have endusers because it's difficult to imagine company that may use acronym xyzn or trqk or qlzy... Yes, it is impossible to imagine in English, but in Chinese it is perhaps easier than imagine a company that can use acronym FHBA, VCDI, LMSE, DGFO, etc, etc, etc...

One more example. Sedo.com = Sell Domains. Interesting what is chinese equivalent to this? May be some ugly to western domainer combination - "qjgd.com" LOL

I'm a native Chinese speaker (read, write, speak), working in Marketing agencies in US in the last 10 years (branding, websites, mobile apps). I'm excited and somewhat amused by the sudden need to understand the Chinese language. It sort of caught me off guard.

But at the end of the day, the premium letters might be different, it is still about branding: a clever play on the sound of the words combo, acronyms, or whatever.

Here, GD means province 广东 in China and QJ has some good meaning. This domain name is good.

"China's Jiangsu Changjiang Electronics Technology — better known as JCET — has won orders to assemble system-in-package (SiP) modules for Apple in 2016"

However, JCET is using the domain name http://www.cj-elec.com/, or Chang Jiang Electronics. Maybe it will buy JCET . com, maybe it won't.

Jiangsu is a Province 江苏, and Chang Jiang is 长江, or by western name "Yangtze River", which technically was really the river mouth 扬子江 and never the entire river.

Their chinese name is 长电科技.
So ZDKJ is also appropriate.

If asking price for JCE.com is 200k and for CJET.com 20k they may think about using cjet.com or simply continue using cj-elec.com

CP LLLL.com sales actually seem worse than yesterday, with many being sold for under $1950.

I can see a rebound within the next few weeks, but may not be a soon as many hope. They seem to be tanking the market to (scare investors/shake the trees for more supply and) buy on the low.

They will need to flip these domains so the levels will rise again; we'll just see for how long they will be slamming the levels for.

Some small companies in China are more preferring to use .cn or .com.cn if .com isn't available or too expensive.

Are you referring to the 4.cn prices? Those tend to be lower than Godaddy/etc/etc.

Godaddy and Sedo prices seem fine to me, i.e. > $2000
