The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
@laszlo

Feature suggestion: It would be great if sellers could put selected domains "on sale" for X amount of time or days. So on domain setting, could specify "on sale" price and end of the sale. Option to enable countdown timer until sale ends on the domain sale page. And when sale ends/expires, the price reverts back to the original set price. And/or allow to batch select domains and run X% discount "on sale" and duration for selected domains. Just a thought I think it would really be a popular feature for domain sellers.

Is there any difference between using the DAN.COM distribution network (aka Afternic), or listing all the domains both on DAN and Afternic?

In short, should I keep listing my domains at Afternic or should I remove them and just use DAN also to manage Afternic listings?

Thanks!

Dan.com seems to be down right now (confirmed at several "Is It Down?" sites)... naturally, just after I schedule some early domain work for Sunday morning.

I choosed Payoneer as payout option. But Payoneer is unreliable and suspicious, I still have not received funds from April 4th, my bank says that the payment was not received, that there is a problem on the part of the sender.

@LaszloSchenk @GoDaddy When a Godaddy domain sells with an installment plan at Dan.com, there's no reason for Godaddy's system to send the domain to the 'transfer verify' department. Dan.com's system creates an automatic transfer request and the domain is being transferred to Meta Registrar. It makes no sense that the seller and the buyer have to wait 1-2 business days because of 'transfer verify' for a transfer Dan.com's own system is generating. Please coordinate and remove this friction.

Good morning @elmoney,

That should not be the case.

Have you contacted our support desk yet? If not, please make sure to do so in order to see if we can resolve the matter or identify the problem for you.

Has Dan noted any increase in sales when there is a description present? Or, more specifically, does having an good description seem to increase the likelihood of success?

A Namepros member raised this question, so I am asking if your marketplace specifically has noted that it makes a difference.

Good morning @LoveCatchyDomains,

The main stimulation for sales would be the right combination of listing options. However, for those using a buy it now landing page only, providing a good description for it will be beneficial indeed. We strongly recommend to consult our support to validate what options would be most suitable for your portfolio.

Have a great day.

@LaszloSchenk Is there a reason why DAN's twitter handle is still @undeveloped instead of @DAN_Domains or a handle that includes the word DAN? Maybe not the best strategy to convert first-time new domain buyers who are likely unfamiliar with DAN, etc. When you share copy/paste a domain for sale at DAN on Twitter it always imports the info from DAN "...I found a great domain on sale at @undeveloped... check it out..." Personally I liked the brand name Undeveloped better than DAN but unfortunately that ship has sailed.

Honestly, I don't think it really matters, any more than I think the Uniregistry Twitter handle is important.

It's a GODADDY WORLD!!

Thanks for the response.
So, for BIN, you feel the description might really help. But for the "make offer" domains, does it appear less helpful?

Also, if there is any trademark on something similar to the domain name, is that important to mention as well in the description?

Obviously, a domain with a name similar to a prominent trademark likely shouldn't be listed. But for those domains where there might be even a remote issue, is it suggested to provide that information up front or suggesting review of TM prior to purchase?

Good morning @LoveCatchyDomains,

Thank you for your response.

Yes, in general I see that only crucial information should be displayed. If you have multiple listing options, adding a description could result in too much information being presented on your For Sale page. However, if you only use a price request or a buy it now option, there is room left to utilize your description without causing noise.

We do not permit trademarked domain names from being listed and do not recommend selling these in general. If you have domains that might be trademarked in only a particular industry or country you could always decide to mention that in the description indeed.

Have a nice day.

There's a delay for a domain to show up under My Domains. I add the domain, get the success e-mail, domain takes 10-15 minutes to show up in My Domains. Anyone else having the same issue?

Coincidentally, I recently experienced a similar delay, but then when deleting 1 domain. Received an email confirmation and the domain details stated that the domain had been removed. However, the domain was still listed for a few minutes in the domain portfolio overview.

Good morning @Future Sensors and @silentg,

Thank you for informing us about this.

I have made sure to test it this morning and the domain names resolved instantly. It could be that in some cases there is a temporary delay when too many or larger bulk imports are performed at the same time. However, the speed appears to have returned back to its normal processing time already.

Have a great day.

Good morning,

Thank you for your message.

This often happens when too many attempts take place. Are you still experiencing the same issue?

In short, should I keep listing my domains at Afternic or should I remove them and just use DAN also to manage Afternic listings?
As I understand it, only domains listed via an Afternic account are eligible for Fast Transfer status, and only ones with Fast Transfer status enabled get listed on Afternic's wider premium network of partners.

So if that is accurate, then domains only listed in a Dan account will appear as for sale when someone searches at Godaddy, but not on the wider Afternic/Godaddy network of partner registrars.

Could this be confirmed @LaszloSchenk ?
