Hello,

Ive been out of the game for a while and just went to renew my names at godaddy and seems my domain club expired and now the renewal prices are insane and no coupons.

SO, What is the registrar people use now who own over 100 names? Ever since lost my VIP rep godaddy has been downhill.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
I constantly transfer domains from one company to another depending on who has the best transfer price on any given day. Right now the best transfer prices are at Namebright.com, Name.com, Namesilo.com, and AlpNames.com.

I did have an issue with the privacy protection at Namebright.com. Even though I had the automatic renewal feature turned off, Namebright renewed the free WhoIsPrivacy protection at $2.99 per year for 50 names in my account two months before the free privacy was set to expire. After trying to contact customer service for 2 days (it happened on Friday and it took until Monday), I was able to get somebody on the phone. They kind of acted like it was my fault, but they still refunded my money. I guess that's good, though I was still required to remove all free Whois privacy protection from all the remaining domains in my account. My advice: be careful with the free Whois Privacy at NameBright.

I guess I should have lead with its all about the renewals. I dont really care about transfer deals or new reg. ITs the time involved vs cost savings to move all the names and deal with a new interface. Been with godaddy from day one and had vip rep and was all good, as soon as they stopped mine I was back to a scrub and service was horrible. STILL IS horrible with morons to answer phone and live chat when its open was worse. Namesilo doesnt do .us do I would still need godaddy and just paid the 77 for the domain club

yes it is shocking that namesilo would take my domains and auction them off because I forgot the answer to my security question. They would not verify me by email or call me , as my email and phone number was listed as my contact details as the account holder at namesilo. They would not call or email the account owner, which was me. Instead they said I could not access my domains after numerous hours with support trying to get them to call the account holder or email the account holder which was me. They would do neither. The only way I could have gotten my account back was to remember my forgotten security question answer.

Then weeks later they did email me to say they was going to auction off my domains because I could not renwew them since they would not send me password reset link to the account holder.
I would make sure you write down the answer to security question password about 5 times and put in different places so you will make sure you wont forget or lose the answer. I tried to show proof of purchase of domain I had in my account and they would not accept it.
Check this link https://www.namesilo.com/Support/Password-Retrieval
I think one can still retrieve their account if they forgot answer of the security Question.

Hello - just wanted to let you know that we have supported .us for years :)

We currently support over 350 TLDs as shown on our pricing page:

NameSilo
GoDaddy
NameCheap

...for me. NameSilo currently tops the list imo . It is one of the few registrars that currently supports both Afternic Premium and Sedo MLS and that's obviously a plus from a domainer perspective.

Hope it helps...

DynaDot
NameSilo

They are my main ones although I use 6 others also

I think Namecheap is a good all rounder. Others are cheaper, and arguably better platform layout etc, but they're the sweet spot in the middle for me - good prices and promos, good platform, secure (2 factor etc), support replies within a good time and with something useful.

Namesilo has been great for me. In my opinion it's domainer friendly. It has easy to use interface, free privacy, competitive pricing, bulk updating and marketplace tools.

I`m newbie, but i did reserch and found Namesilo. Good price for register and renewal, and privacy protection for free. I mean this is good deal.

The past two years most of our new registrations have been through NameSilo and we have been reasonably pleased to date.

Their prices are all right, comp privacy which was an attractive draw and, no unwelcome
" Surprise" arose through one basic renewal cycle.

We primarily use 'em for registrations / privacy and renewal, and have yet to seriously utilize their various available tools.

Thank you for sharing

I have been looking to transfer my domains to one place, one of my requirements was Afternic Premium, thus why I mostly use Godaddy. Going forward will consider NS as well.

I like shopping at places with nice clutter-free interfaces, reasonable renewals & free privacy. +1 for Uniregistry and Name.com (free privacy w. widely available coupon).

Is there a way that you have found to be able to house all of your domains in one place?
Looks like you're a Uniregistry customer so you might already know that their domain manager can track domains from multiple registrars.

I used to go for Godaddy, however now renewal fees are expensive. I am now moving to NameSilo

I always felt like it was their MO to get you to spend more $$$ with them. Sure it was disguised as good customer service and sometimes it really was but essentially I felt like they really wanted in to my wallet. Those lists they send out to their clients, just trying to hype up the prices of their expired auctions (that are already seriously inflated imo)....

YES
  • NameSilo
  • Epik ( a bit slow and filters are non existent )
  • Name.com ( very good but a bit pricey )
  • Dynadot ( see name.com )
  • Uniregistry ( best price for me but DON'T use their mktplace and brace yourself if you need support )

NO
  • Enom ( saying it sucks does not even get you half way )
  • GoDaddy ( probably the worst registrar among the big players; if you re not a VIP poor you )
  • NmeCheap ( they resell enom )

That used to be before but I think that's changed. Rumors are, this move away from enom was also _one_ of the reasons why eNom was sold to tucows. I'd actually put them similar to name.com but their interface is not so good and they lack bulk management tools

Thanks for the update!
I still don't like them very much anyway :xf.grin::-P

I used to. Used them for the longest time. But NS has far outstripped them in terms of quality and feature. I'll say this tho, NC's support is also very good. I've had only good experiences with them
