Virtual Reality Domains (VR)

Spaceship Spaceship
Watch
Im betting big bucks on VR domains have a great future and with the big boys buying up VR companies, mainstream is a stones throw away.....

Lots of VR+keyword.com taken years ago and I noticed this sale a week or so back -

VRTechnology.com $3688

This was a steel and I can soon see everything from VRPoker / VRCasinos / VRShopping / VRBrowsing / VRTours / VRWorlds / etc etc....having a high price tag even now at the start of VR hitting mainstream...

I have just paid $x,xxx for a name but will not be showcasing as the domain is in escrow at present....

Feel free to showcase your VR domains If you like...

Cheers

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
When people go on about bad name buying, I don’t know it just seems people are sitting on a high horse to me trying to look down at someone.

I’m not going to mention names but some people who have gone on about it recently have made some crap buys themselves in my opinion, who am I to say anything though? People may think majority of my buys are rubbish.

If someone went to me in a shop, saying ‘that’s crap what you buying that for?’ I’d probably say something like ‘what’s it got to do with you?’ and so would everyone else – What’s the difference here? Because we can't see the person and sat at a computer screen? You've just got to let people get on with it.

its okay do not worry or talk about it. it's off topic. anyone who thinks they have some sort of right or obligaton to tell others how they should spend their money or issue warnings to them, are simply out of their mind, insecure, looking for trouble, time wasters, and deserve nothing other than to be ignored. drop it.

it was covered 50 times on this thread that .vr cannot exist due to min 3 char rule for extensiosn

now 51 times.

let's all hope time 52 will not happen. its better concentrate on the real like ,com than talk about ghosts.
I said "something like that", meaning it could be .virtual or some other extension devoted to VR. I am well aware that this has been discussed, but it is becoming more likely now. Besides, things change and an exception could be made for a VR extension, who knows. I have a bunch of VR.com and other VR. extensions, so it is not something that I am hoping for by any means.

oh okay in that case I'd like direct my comment to the guy who did say .vr specifically. either way, I think we have enough new extension examples coming out every week or month that go absolutely nowhere. .com is king. everything else is slave or ghost.

I saw this too, and it's making me think I under invested in VR.

i watched the event live yesterday :) it was trully an introduction about mobil VR, Facebook, Samsung, Unreal and Google put all their ressources together to accelerate the VR penetration..will be huge and faster than expected than if we had to wait for enduser to have a new powerfull desktop..the S7 is just a killer, got the power of a xbox/ps4

we're just speculating.

we have no idea how wealthy the acquiring party is

I am just following what you said that the timing of it all allows for a possiblity the buyer/company is some huge shot. as in.. $$LOADED$$.. those can be cheap too. and usually are. so do not go by his offers alone ;)

Well said.

Have you also noticed the same people that go on about bad name buying don't actually have anything good to say either. They don't bring anything positive or constructive, they mostly bring negative posts to the thread.

They are really good names, but how did you miss VisionVR3D, Vision3DVR, VisionVR360, and Vision360VR ? Somebody else here will grab them if you don't.

Not a way to give feedback

Need some advice from VR specialists,,,

I'm thinking about pushing my VRsmartphone into a direct Sedo auction, as I've had some past interest in the high $$$ / low-$$$$ range, and now need cash for another opportunity... Do you think this is a name the aftermarket would have much interest in at this point in time (given recent Samsung announcements, etc.) and what do you think might be a fair reserve:?: (All input and opinions welcome...If you'd rather offer advice off-line, feel free to PM me...)

It is a great name. You should create a buzz around first, before even starting a Sedo auction, as they only do 7 days, if I am not mistaken. Then have it published on newsletters, buy a link rotation spot at Namebio and also do contact the major smartphone producers directly informing that you are going to post it on auction and if they are interested to receive info/link when it goes online or if they want to make a direct offer.

Well i would do some silent outbound research first, there are plenty of options . If not successful then move to sedo.

imo this is the type of domain you should hold on to for longer time and more money .. the way things are gong for vr+smartphones now.

are you sure u can't pick anything else to replace it off your list?

good luck.

Were the offers you received via Sedo platform itself? If yes, will Sedo notify previous bidders of the direct auction listing? Auctions, especially short 7 day ones can be a big hit or a bigger miss. I would personally avoid that route. But if one of the low $,$$$ offers were still binding, then I would push it into auction. Good luck!

true
but I think he said he does not want to start from 1$.. so start XXX or have XXX reserve

which I think is fine. except it could still be a miss. cause I think sedo charges fees. not cheap for this... so if no bid or sale.. u lose auction fee.. I have no clue how much cause I nver use auction there. maybe $50? whereas push to auction after offer received is I think free on sedo..

You're missing what I'm saying. He wouldn't be starting from $1 if he had received a low 4 figure, $,$$$ bid via the Sedo platform, then he could just push it to auction and the x,xxx bid price would act as reserve a reserve and a guaranteed sales price.

I thnk you missed what I said.

you were saying that it'd be a big miss to just post it to auction without an initial push offer. to which I said it would not be, because his intention was not to start with 1$ but list with reserve or from XXX amount.

and yes of course the ideal is to push after offer, but again, that was not his point because he currently has no offers and does not want to wait, and was asking about listing it an auciton without offer/push.

in short, its not about me missing what you said.. its more abotu you missign what he said.

unless we both missed what he meant lol. in which case.. maybe mr @NamesBond can clarify haha.

cheers
