Virtual Reality Domains (VR)

Spaceship Spaceship
Watch
Im betting big bucks on VR domains have a great future and with the big boys buying up VR companies, mainstream is a stones throw away.....

Lots of VR+keyword.com taken years ago and I noticed this sale a week or so back -

VRTechnology.com $3688

This was a steel and I can soon see everything from VRPoker / VRCasinos / VRShopping / VRBrowsing / VRTours / VRWorlds / etc etc....having a high price tag even now at the start of VR hitting mainstream...

I have just paid $x,xxx for a name but will not be showcasing as the domain is in escrow at present....

Feel free to showcase your VR domains If you like...

Cheers

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
Yep. Someone made a couple offers. If they were a bit closer to what I was asking, I probably would have sold it on the spot. But that didn't happen, so I decided to push to auction to see what happens. Either way, I'm happy with the sale and the buyer gets an awesome deal.

It's a great system they have at NameSilo - transactions are very smooth! It's a great registrar too! Highly recommended. Support is top notch and they reply to any questions extremely fast.

I hope whoever buys the domain puts some great content on it. The more VR sites out there, the better it is for everyone. I wouldn't be surprised if someone buys it to resell it though.

ok thanks
I have acount there cause someone needed push a domain in past.. so I opened it. I onyl have 1 domain there. never tried the marketplace.

so basically this is same principle as godaddy auctions. someones makes offer, you choice to accept or push to 7 day auction. good to know

can you comment on how popular this market place is? do your VR domains get a lot of views? many offers? I mean this obviously can be in match in terms of VR offers/views to sedo/flippa/godaddy right?

I could be shopping round for a new good registrar and inastead of renewing on namecheap (where the marketplace is absolutely NOT worth bothering with) and godaddy, transfer/renew at namesilo.. still shopping round I guess.

cheers

Everything about NameSilo is great. I use their marketplace but no luck as of yet, i know it's a fairly new feature of theirs so wasn't sure how popular the marketplace yet, yours is the first VR sale i've heard of on NameSilo.

Might consider trying some of my listings in auction soon instead of 'make an offer', congrats.

That's a great start at $3k. IMO most VR + Geo or Geo + VR would be for vacation rentals. I have already turn down IndiaVR.com offer of mid $x,xxx.
One good sale can always be good for a portfolio of 1-2 year worth of renewals that takes the pressure off. IMO :)

My opinion on this is a tad different from yours. I think that countries, cities, islands etc will start using geo vr names to showcase, lure, educate folks on what's going on in their locals. I'm envisioning a try before you fly/visit/buy business model in vr geo domains that encompasses tourism, real estate to include vacay rentals, dining etc much like some regular geo domains currently offer. With web technology improving for VR consumption sky will be the limit.

I think they're still working on the Marketplace and I read somewhere they might have some more updates coming soon. But it works great. I've sold a few domains with them. There is no way to monitor views, which I hope this is something they will provide in the future. You could park domains on your own server and link them to your sales page for a rough estimate.

I don't know if any offers on this domain or others that I've had are a direct result of the marketplace or not. The marketplace is still very new. A lot of people don't know about it.

good info....thanks
I hope this can be good for VR domains. now I park my vr domains with bodis, directly to lander page.. but.. since I read about namesilo from you a moment I went to play with my domains.. and its nice features they got! you are right! you can actually link your VR domains directly to sales lander.. so when someone types name in browser they go there.. and if they want to nbuy, they are redirect to namesilo market.. which means what you said that even your VRparis sale may not have originated by someone actually gong to NS market.

it looks nice! I like the lander.. looks nice for VR domains!!! VRstartup.com
the only problem is of course you don't get the benefits of nice visitor stats like on bodis!
which is nice to have stats on visitors contries etc.. for new niche domains like VR

yes I agree. in the end it does not matter if someone buys today vrparis for VR or vacation rentals. cause once Virtualreality would become mainstream in future, even vacation rentals will go Virtual if the whole world does too. like u say sky is limit

The $1.59 .com deal still seems to be working for me.

Not much available now but for $1.59 it's not too much of a loss:

VR reference
VR integration
VR home finder
VR ad portal
VR best price
VR4Y

I don't see VR going bust, I do see it being incredibly expensive for PC-based VR, I don't think adoption will be fast. It might be mid 2017 before domain names start to take off.
True story! lol. After reading all your posts and doing some more research im kind of changing my views on this. I need to put on my thinking cap and grab some names. plus hold them for 3-5 years :( :)

yep definitely not much left.. except for some brainstormed gems people may get.. I Went thruogh my old lists earlier today for a final run through it.. and picked up a last few.. didn't bother to look for more since.. so I guess I'll just let the promo expire now.. my today regs were .com:

VRparticles
VRascent
VRancestor
VReincarnation
VRworkings
VRupdating

at 9$ total.. I'm pretty sure I'll be able to recover my investment in next 12 months ;)

Godaddy loves these guys! Regging in one sitting 50+ domains with no *practical* end user value, with no apparent understanding as to what exactly VR is.

Simply said, it's desperation and laziness - being too lazy to do real keyword research...

But that's more good domains for those of us who do take the time to put in the work.

This. And the real Machiavellis here will actually defend bulk bad name buying and report those who try to warn newbies against it, meanwhile investing themselves in the quality names that these guys could be making bids for if they weren't spending $500 a throw for dozens of rubbish names.

For some reason I feel like ".VR" is going to be established and recognized world wide as the main domain extension for the VR industry. ".COM" will be reserved for the real world. ".VR" will be for the virtual world. (Speaking to the future)

Who, what, when, where and how? I have no clue. :alien3:

Too cheap... Real bargain for the buyer (IMO)

I think it's a good candidate for XX.XXX in two or three years.

I think something like that is inevitable, it will be a money maker for the registry.
I wonder what affect this will have on all our .coms.

it was covered 50 times on this thread that .vr cannot exist due to min 3 char rule for extensiosn

now 51 times.

let's all hope time 52 will not happen. its better concentrate on the real like ,com than talk about ghosts.

When people go on about bad name buying, I don’t know it just seems people are sitting on a high horse to me trying to look down at someone.

I’m not going to mention names but some people who have gone on about it recently have made some crap buys themselves in my opinion, who am I to say anything though? People may think majority of my buys are rubbish.

If someone went to me in a shop, saying ‘that’s crap what you buying that for?’ I’d probably say something like ‘what’s it got to do with you?’ and so would everyone else – What’s the difference here? Because we can't see the person and sat at a computer screen? You've just got to let people get on with it.
