Virtual Reality Domains (VR)

Spaceship Spaceship
Watch
Im betting big bucks on VR domains have a great future and with the big boys buying up VR companies, mainstream is a stones throw away.....

Lots of VR+keyword.com taken years ago and I noticed this sale a week or so back -

VRTechnology.com $3688

This was a steel and I can soon see everything from VRPoker / VRCasinos / VRShopping / VRBrowsing / VRTours / VRWorlds / etc etc....having a high price tag even now at the start of VR hitting mainstream...

I have just paid $x,xxx for a name but will not be showcasing as the domain is in escrow at present....

Feel free to showcase your VR domains If you like...

Cheers

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
I guess im in the 1% and i wouldn't assume that other people have not tried or own Vr headsets.

So, I made a listing on a 360/VR FB group about some names for sale and, I got my first round of "domainer hate". lol.
I had a feeling that would happen but, wow, we might be the most hated group of people on the internet, (after advertisers, of course). :guilty:
I strongly advise against the method.

People think all of the great domain names are gone... which means they are excluded from he party. If they knew they could pick up domain names and profit from them they would be singing a different tune.

It's like this across the board with the 'general public' that has absolutely no knowledge of branding and top-tier online marketing.

I've got a 4L that matches a persons business exactly ; their logo, it's all over their marketing, etc... Yet they can't even work it out in their heads to spend any more than $500. Meanwhile another company will pay $10k for their matching 4L, or $250k for a 4L brandable that actually sounds like a word.

Wait 4-5 years from now when the domain prices are going to be insane when the general public learns about drop catching. You will start to see a lot less 'bad' domains, and much more expensive good ones.

Hello my friends,
My latest: AttractionsVR.com

Latest: NYCVirtualReality.com

I'm betting on a lot of VR production companies in NY and your domain would be a good one for one of them. I picked up bigappleVR + VRbigapple as possible geo-brandables to try to catch one. I got sohoVR to try to get one too

I did research and I found out that San Jose and Salt Lake City are fast rising big tech cities so I got sanjoseVR and slcVR / VRslc to present as domain options for local VR companies.

If anything I could develop referral domains to local company as well, I like that there are options to sell or develop myself.

People think all of the great domain names are gone... which means they are excluded from he party. If they knew they could pick up domain names and profit from them they would be singing a different tune.

Because "most of them" are gone and have been for the last 1-2 years.

It's like this across the board with the 'general public' that has absolutely no knowledge of branding and top-tier online marketing.

It's because many of them would like a name for their blog etc and ask for a price and hear or see listed prices like $2K for names not worth 2x hand reg and most of them can't afford $200 for a blog domain.

Many buyers can not understand when the name is parked, they consider that you are not using it and they would. You are just holding it hostage.

I always say to them I've been holding it all this time for possibly you. Would you prefer that I was using it and it was not for sale ? Would you feel better?

5-8 years ago, many would make a living selling names to bloggers at $50-100. But somewhere along the line, to many think valuations are very high and can't seem to understand who might actually buy the name (you have to have a need) and why anyone would be willing to pay more than 3 figures for it ( a very great need with a bank role to back that need )

I can only say that if you really think a domain is worth more to anyone than a blogger, you had better be able to back that up with data or I hope you have not bet your lunch money on holding them.

There is not going to be more than a few hundred major players in this VR space over the next 5 years. Add to that generic uses like sports, concerts, and photography/videoography, chatrooms, games, entertainment and porn and you might have a additional 200 keywords and perhaps you might have 3000 names of use and value (over $1000) .And a few hundred worth more than 25k and less than 50 worth more than 250k. (estimating the high side)

If anyone thinks that is off-the mark show me what happened with smartphones/iphones/android phone/cell phone domains. Don't tell me that VR is going to be different because in a short 7 year period cellphone/smartphone has taken the consumer market worldwide as the no1 consumer product. VR has no chance of that saturation level in 10 years. It will be lucky if it meets twice the level of all game consoles sales in 3 years. Smartphone domains are in demand as it relates to "APPS" only. A secondary but strong and unpredictable market.

Someone please explain to me who might use JesusChristVR outside of a blogger and why it has the potential to be worth more than $200.
If it is a good key word, it will quickly fill in .net .org .info and others.
Sure many of the public are mad when they see those prices.
To many are polishing distortions into their crystal ball.

"sometimes" I agree with them. But in the end you pays your money and takes your choice.

Good luck.

How i value my domains?

For me it's all about the natural traffic a domain is getting. But not all traffic is equal. Most valuable traffic for me is gambling / casino traffic. 2017 will be the year i let some VR domains drop when they are not performing well. I am not emotional connected to the VR domains. For me it is al statistics. When a end user is making a offer i will look at the statistics and the market value. They will not get the domain for cheap...

I think it's among the better four letter VR names around.

My theory on JesusChristVR:

Jesus both ways taken

Christ both ways taken

God both ways taken

It's good SEO domain.

And on Pope both ways: he has Twitter so VR is only the next logical step for him. Vatican taken both ways :(

Even the most stupid VR names CAN be worth a lot, because no one knows what the future holds.
So if you can get a cheap($0.99-$3.13) handreg domain, it is worth a shot.

Just because you don't see any value in these names, someone else might. You, nor anyone, know the future, even when it's based on past behavior.

You just throw out lots of hypothetical numbers that makes no sense to me, like :

" There is not going to be more than a few hundred major players in this VR space over the next 5 years..".

Good luck.

First of all there are tens of thousands of churches looking to recruit people. They are already building theme parks and whatever to do this. Why not use a domain like JesusChristVR to do that? Secondly, documentaries, movies etc. That's why I got TheBibleVR.com

I don't think you understand what impact VR will have when you are comparing it to smart phones and "apps". Apps are apps...go to an app page and find all sorts of apps. VR doesnt work that way. If I want to buy a massage chair that has VR support I will google "vr massage chair"....and if I was selling VR massage chairs I would be pretty interested in buying a VR massage chair domain for my business.
