It seems that 3D is going to be the the next must have technology, according to the big brands, they are all launching 3D TVs.

I attempted to find good 3D names but the best domains are already taken, I think in 5 years time or even less, those generic 3D domains will be worth a lot. :imho:

Anyone else registering 3d domains? Do you think they have a future?

Compare 3D tv-com

no slashes or does that mean dot here? great concept keep working it[/QUOTE]

Froy, there you are.
No slashes and yes it's the .com.

Millers,

Best of luck to you w/the medical 3D domains.
That list I posted, I have always had those domains on my list of "possibilities".
Did you take any of those?
I hope so, because knowing they are still available will probably drive me nuts, til I reg them, lol
I think it could be a brilliant move.
Would you mind sharing them?
Best of luck to ya!

Five people have already explained you your TM problem, but you keep posting with the same question.
Yes, Blu-ray is trademark, and yes, you can loose that domain due to TM problem. And yes, you are resposnible if you sell it to someone else.

Which five. And maybe you should read the question before answering it half.
Blu-ray is a trademark, and for all i know trademarking involves a high level of pickyness. So when it says "blu-ray" is registered will it hold up in court. Is there any evidence of a similar case?

THAT is my question. Thanks.

Oh and another thing, since you sounded all heated up about me asking the question: Are you in trouble trying to sell metart.tv on the site in your sig? Because last time i checked MetArt is an adult companies brand name.

Thanks namewaiter, it certainly wasnt a hand-reg, but I spoke to the owner and we eventually came to a deal, where I was certainly the winner, I believe!

Apparently it's been regged since 1999 (11 years) I check archive.org to confirm this but it kept timing out...not sure why??

Appreciate the comments..thanks

Sell it to me now!

bluray 3d players

hey Mrcurly...actually its 3d bluray players

I have been speaking to some people in the industry and they also think they will eventually be called 3D players, its short and sweet and to the point, and because its new, people wont all them Bluray players, it will only cause confusion, so 3D players will be the norm....hopefully

just like DVD players became "DVD Players"

Well since all of the great 3D product domains are gone, adding "cheap" in front seems like the best move.
I can't think of a better word to add to these 3D product domains (new, sales, online....)
Not sure what would be best for "search results", You'd have to research.

Ya know I don't think that should even be a discussion which goes first,
Bluray3D, or 3DBluray, either way I believe Bluray is a TM. - Not good.

1000% they will be called bluray 3d players, type in bluray 3d player into google and read results

Seems the experts are not on one line about it. Is bluray a TM as is, or is it trademarked as blu-ray, it can, if im not wrong, mean a big difference.

There are 6 live TM's on Blu-Ray
2 of them are 3d specific.
I doubt the dash being excluded makes a difference at all.
I'm not a lawyer but I would like to keep my reputation intact.
So my suggestion is...

Stay away from TM's all together.

snoop either sdsinc or dubdubdubdot came out with that load of crap , it's probably 10-15 pages back by now , i am actually trying to look into affiliate situations for my 3dtvs.tv so i dont have time , i have nothing to prove to anyone , i am saying some individuals here refuse to acknowledge the changes that are happening with tv, movie and even the net , i am quite sure other people read their comments as well
You might be putting words in my mouth, my point is that whether 3D takes off in everyday life or not (whatever that means) does not mean any '3D' domain will be valuable.
I did not see a lot of domains in this thread that strike me as potentially valuable. For every domain posted you can find dozens of similar domains still unregistered. That alone is reason enough to question the registration choices that are being made, that applies to any niche of course, not just 3D domains. Bad domains are registered every day.

There are members that think their fresh regs are worth millions, I don't think it's wrong to counter such claims on a domain discussion forum. Hey it's your money after all :talk:

I'm trying to understand the underlying reasons for that 'fad', I am of course aware of the movie industry, I've seen Avatar. What else ?

avatar made millions, do you think it was the story line or because it was in 3d

For the TM of Blu-ray related DN: Blu-ray .com (eshop for movies: major squater!, but still using theyre TM name without problems)
And there's plenty more out there...just don't put scrap or insult them on they're TM!
Its not like any small business that you will steal theyre identity: Everyone now's what's Blu-ray disc & using the name won't ruine theyre compagny.
Since there's too much people using the terms: they can't sew everyone... If they would: Blu-ray .com would be the first! :D lol

My 2 cents

The storyline was basic it was mainly the 3D that gave the wow factor

i agree, 3d will hit this planet with a BOOM BOOM BOOM !

Avatar didn't win the best movie award at the Oscar for that reason.

This is what i am saying, anything in 3D sells no matter if good or bad, 3d domains will be big business this year!

So when it says "blu-ray" is registered will it hold up in court.
How much money are you willing to spend in attorney fees to find out?

100% behind you logic, but why the hell are they accepting BLU-RAY .com/ .net/.org and many more that are using theyre TM (Blu-ray (dot) com is theyre damn name) and they are still online. I just wonder: maybe Blu-ray isn't agressive on domain names.
Would be cool if you could give us some court trial for Blu-ray domain names.

ps: I'm not trying to say the contrary to you: just wonder why they are still online if Blu-ray was hard on TM...and why Sedo accept them? (before deleting my domains for 0$)

Big business in bad 3D domains, huh?

Can you point to anything similar to this happening in domain history?.... or is 3D just so groundbreaking that the past doesn't matter?
