Anyone else registering 3D domains?

It seems that 3D is going to be the the next must have technology, according to the big brands, they are all launching 3D TVs.

I attempted to find good 3D names but the best domains are already taken, I think in 5 years time or even less, those generic 3D domains will be worth a lot. :imho:

Anyone else registering 3d domains? Do you think they have a future?

no comment on the 135,000 monthly 'exact searches' for 3d porn ???

Most of 3d porn searches are related to "standard 3d" porn - rendered "3d" comics (I wont post adult links here, just search for that term and go to first result). It has nothing with new 3d technology discussed in this thread, and it has been present for ages.

3DTheater.in

and

3DTheaters.in

I think .in make it seem like a hack domain like where in the city are these theaters?

Anyone think that 3D will revolutionise the medical field? and if yes, in which way?

The 3D PaperLens projects 3D visual layers in the space above an operating table, or desktop. Moving the PaperLens in the space reveals the layers within the subject (arteries / muscles / bone), or object. You gotta see it to believe it:

PaperLens: Advanced Magic Lens Interaction Above the Tabletop on Vimeo

(audio) 3D display system YouTube - 3D display system

PDF: http://wwwisg.cs.uni-magdeburg.de/uise/Forschung/Publikationen/2009-ITS-PaperLens.pdf

BTW, 3Dpaperlens.com has no TM issues (that I found in a quick look) and is available. (I like it but my bet is the final product will not be paper. Even if it is the medical application is too narrow, for my taste. I also see some consumer applications in the not too distant future, but thats another story / reg).

The mark consists of 'Blu-ray' followed by '3D' in stylized lettering.

Not sure how it would hold up in court defending 3dblurays.com versus blu-ray3d.com

Five people have already explained you your TM problem, but you keep posting with the same question.
Yes, Blu-ray is trademark, and yes, you can loose that domain due to TM problem. And yes, you are resposnible if you sell it to someone else.

either sdsinc or dubdubdubdot came out with it or possible both
Nobody here has stated that 3D doesn't get any searches. You people are so delerious that you are now seeing naysayer statements that haven't even been said.

they have demonstrated all along they have their heads in the sand
Nobody has said that 3D is going to be a total flop. Some of us are merely questioning why every single product known to man is being registered with "3D" tacked onto it.

no comment on the 135,000 monthly 'exact searches' for 3d porn ???
i quoted statistics regarding 3d porn and still people dont accept the status quo , the thing about pissing into the wind is you end up smelling like piss , some people are not worth my time for pointless arguements .....is a blanket statement
Do you have any idea how much traffic it takes to your site to sell just one affiliate program membership? Keyword "porn" is at 55 Million global search. You can easily have 10,000 uniques a day and still be doing just one sale per day. The traffic in that segment of the internet is really, really bad.

Question for the 3d experts.
The "3D experts" in this thread are noobs and perpetual noobs.

You wont get a daily sale, but estimating a price on a 3d home theater set being around $3000, even 3-4% affiliate fee and 1 sale a week would be more then nice or?
100% chance that these noobs took your figures, multiplied $90 by the 100 3D domains they own and now expect to make $468,000 per year doing nothing.

A word of note to 3d investors - domains in question are home3d.info & 3dhardware.info . Both domains are strong, product related terms which exists on the market for a very long time (3d graphic cards/acceleration & 3d models of a home - 3d software/CAD) and those terms are not related to new 3d technology.

A word of wisdom - try to buy 3d products related terms, not 3d "brandables". For every 20 or 30 fresh, 'brandable' registration you can buy one decent name from aftermarket.

... and those terms are not related to new 3d technology.
There have been quite a few cases of confusion in this thread over a 3D viewing experience and 3D modeling. These seem to be the same to the pumpers.

This thread is unbelievable.
It took on a whole life of it's own.
I Posted my last Post as #1029, went to sleep, just woke up and already at #1067.
I can't even comment to half of the Posts I'd like to comment to here, too many now.

3DPlayers is really a good name Giles.
I figured that wold have been gone a long time ago.

Saucey,
3DHighDefinitionTV-com & 3DHomeTheatre-co-uk - another coupla great finds.
Good Luck w/your 3D's.

DefaultUser,
Welcome!
Thanks for your honesty on being a naysayer then grabbin a 3D domain.
If I were you I'd still grab the naysayer one though - Your 3DFad-com could be a great one,
nice n short, and there could be a lot of people fighting this new technology so who knows...

LexisDomains,
Best of luck to you w/your 3DDigitalStore.
Very Good choice of words, all the best!

3DDomainNames,
About the U.S.'s...
You may have beat me to the punch on your list, but I may have still got you on a few of my keywords...
Only time will tell.
I had a list a mile long, and had to stop, tried to break it down to 10, I think I ended up w/13...
Oh, and I still think (IMO) that 3D is better in the front of the domain, rather than the back but who knows?

MrFrisky,
Wow, what a post.
I think the fighting is done now.
Just looks like a bunch of intelligent discussions from adults for the past page or 2.
The kid's must still be asleep :)

evirtual1,
Keep up the spirit buddy.
You have a damn good portfolio so far.
I know you should have a couple of nice sales whether it is domainer to domainer or to an enduser, either way, you do have some hot 3D property there.

Froy,
Where are you???
You're the funnest person with the most 3D enthusiasm in this thread!

Ok, here's a stretch but I know it is searched (checked it in the HD example)
3d tv's are hitting the shelves this week in a HUGE Fast fashion.
I think a lot of people will be searching Compare 3D tv's...
whaddya think?
Compare 3D tv-com

Thanks namewaiter, it certainly wasnt a hand-reg, but I spoke to the owner and we eventually came to a deal, where I was certainly the winner, I believe!

Apparently it's been regged since 1999 (11 years) I check archive.org to confirm this but it kept timing out...not sure why??

Appreciate the comments..thanks

Thanks ED.

That article you produced confirmed my suspicions that 3D may be come a useful tool in medical research/operations and understanding of diseases.

I have a particular interst in the medical field due to my autoimmune disorder + my brother is a neurologist and attending physician at UVA....so we always chat medicine!!

I have decided to go ahead and take a $150 bet on 3d - all related to the medical field.

I am thinking for those practicing to become surgeons the best way for them to be taught is through watching a seasoned surgeon perform the surgery in 3d - allowing a much deeper and insightful level of understanding of how to perform delicate operations.

Also going with the angle that if some diseases could be modelled in 3d - it would allow drug companies to produce life saving drugs at a much faster pace as they see in 3D how the disease behaves (not just under a microscope.)

So $150 either pissed away or hold till they are worth a few bob - NOTE: If i make back my $150 I will be happy. I am not out boathunting or mansion searching or ferrari testdriving.....

So you admit to being a domain squatter then.

No I admit buying TM names prior to knowing it was not a good thing to do.
I called them and told them we owned it and they had no issue with it.
I actually wanted to barter a office setup for the name and its not parked and no money is being made off of it,

Than why is Go daddy not responsible for selling it to him?

The disc that we would put into a machine to PLAY would not be called 3D
Don't like it .
