This thread is a central location to report domain name sales of any dollar amount.

As much information as you can include about the transaction is welcome, but at a bare minimum please include the domain name(s), the sale price, and whether you were the seller.

Good luck with your sales!

  • Tip: Use the Like/Thanks feature instead.

Questions are allowed, but do not post commentary. If you want to discuss or comment on a sale in this thread, quote it and then post it in the following thread instead:

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
After JoshuaPZ & others had mentioned Godaddy Premium Listings & the reduction in commission to 30% I decided to give it a try a couple of months ago. I received notice last night of the sale of one of my .COM domains for $750 - no traffic, no Google Adwords Keyword Tool search volume, fewer than 40K exact Google search results but a sale because someone wanted it. This is my first Godaddy sale so I'm not sure how long it will take to clear but as JoshuaPZ pointed out - Godaddy does a great deal of advertising and has brand recognition. The name was listed at SEDO for $599 but buyers aren't always aware of other aftermarket options. I can see that the listing has been removed from my Godaddy domains manager so I suppose I can announce it (payment pending).

EZonlineLoans (dot) com $750 (before 30% commission)

Congratulations! Your proceeds check will arrive in about 1-2 months, usually closer to 2 in my experience. Make sure you have an address configured on-file in your GoDaddy account.

Fantastic start to 2010 so far with two godaddy premium listing sales and a 16 name package sale to an end user previous customer, giving an average 1000% profit after Godaddy's cut.

That's funny. Two days ago my hand was freezing and I thought to myself "I need a mouse that heats up, I wonder if they make those".

Games.gd sold for $600!!!

Just received payment for Games.gd for $450. Sold on Sedo for $600 (Sedo $150). I thought this was pretty good for a .gd domain, especially since I just regged it a little over a month ago. I thought I would have a problem because of this, but I got the money!

here you go: link

because it belongs to III level category where sellers are charged 10% of sales price, min. $150 :)

That's the thing about Sedo when you sold a ccTLD for $xxx. I sold a ccTLD from the past for $500 and Sedo took away $150. That's a little more than 1/3 of the sales price.

I prefer Escrow.com since it doesn't matter what extension you're selling.

2010 Icebreaker

Both in dot Com
L E D T V R e v i e w $400
O G X I $500

Both reg. fee couple years ago. (I didn't take the advice of old timer domainers from a few forums back then "If the domain is unregistered until now nobody wants it" ...I was stubborn and didn't listen.

I sold India.tl last month on sedo for $170, where sedo took $150 and all i was left with was pennies  $20 to be exact :P

PBCA/com $2,700

Nice work! I'm happy to know you made money on the deal in such a short space of time. I would normally have contacted end users myself but am too busy doing that and making money with many of my other domains so just wanted to clear out my LLLL.com's for what I could get. Looks like we both ended up satisfied :)

Gotta agree though that it's not worth bothering with the reseller market at the moment. I'd much rather contact end users where I could make thousands for names that wouldn't get pennies on the forums.
