Since all good domains are reged already, sometimes we must take a look on the future and dream a little bit before reg a new name.

I've done that 2 months ago.

I was watching tv and saw something in the news about a Portuguese girl who is researching about Transparent Electronics.

She said that (maybe) in 2 years Transparent TFT's will be a reallity just like in the movie "Minority Report".

So, i decided dream a little and reged until 2010:

TransparentTFT.com
TransparentTFTs.com

Can you imagine what i thought today when i saw this title:

USC develops flexible, transparent TFT prototype for high-tech temporary tattoos

The dream it's becoming reallity.
And, If the dream comes true, maybe i can make "some dollars" with it :D

TFT = thin film transistor. What will most likely have real value will be names associated with the product that this new technology is put into, such as oled televisions.

I do agree with you though that trendwatching can be profitable and is a good way to find great names as long as you're willing to work hard, accept the risks, and have plenty of patience.

I disagree there are thousands of excellent domains still available to register for RegFee - Hence why I created RegFeeNames.com to help people find these domains for FREE!

Congratualtions on your registration - Lets hope it brings you a nice end user sale!

Robbie

Yes. And nearly all of them are already listed in the aftermarket at inflated price tags. So precisely speaking, perhaps there are millions of good domains available for purchase.

With regards to your TransparentTFT.com domain, since you said it's a technology that is still coming out of the laboratory, maybe its real intrinsic value would still be years away or when it becomes commercialized. For the meantime, you probably can resell it again to another name speculator for some quick bucks. Or keep renewing the name year after year, until such time that it becomes a household name already and maybe Samsung, Toshiba, or some TFT regulating body will buy the name from you.

Which reminded me, that when nanotechnology came out, it spurred out countless speculative domain names like Nanotechboutique.com (the guy who regged it must be thinking nanotech novelty items would start appearing in shopping malls).
