Ok hi everyone, So I am very excited that I won my First Back Order ever on Namejet, Pre Release Auction. I've done research and learned about looking for a "sleeper" and Good domain that slips by unnoticed . Well I think I found it and I waited till the last 1min to place my bid so it would not get any extra attention. Also I ignored the BS crap estibot value as it was crap...while many other domains with one of the same key words was getting bids, and perhaps the high esitbot values were fueling their attention, I'm just happy I Won as a only bidder. As I intend to Flip this domain as I think it would do well at a Flippa or Sedo premium Auction with some Outbound mkt.

Now my questions ..

1) Can I share the Domain Name here yet?
It's not in my account yet, its a TWO KEYWORD DOMAIN NAME first Keyword is Very strong, second one is very good as well (It's brother had a $50k BIN) btw it's 19 years old 1998

2) Namejet sent me the Confirmation email saying within 7 days, I will receive a link from the register with my new account with the domain name, the register is ENOM , BUT.....

I noticed the the WHOIS exp date has now changed and has a full new year till 2018, though it says "client prohibited from transfer"......is this because when I won and Namejet charged my account the new 1year contract went into effect and simply my info is not in the whois under that name yet, OR did the original owner renew it???? :(

Also I see there is the "42 Auction lock " with ENOM which I understand as from the day I won to 42 days from that day it can't be bought or sold/ transferred ........but some people get that confused with how long the original owner has to renew it...which I understood it is 19-42 days MAX AFTER the EXP DATE...meaning my winning bid reset the EXP date till 2018...and if the OG owner wants to renew it they have until the 42 days after the OG exp date..So they must pay the RE Fee plus Late fee! But if its Expired on 2017-06-02 that means they only have till July 12 2017 as their last chance to renew??

I'm sorry I made this so long and could be shorter, M just confused and excited at the same time and CAN NOT tell if they have renewed yet, and or if I'm in the Clear yet?

Anyone ? Thank you :)

Don't share the name yet.

If Namejet has successfully charged you, they'll send you the account login details.

Yes the original owner is allowed to recover the domain within the 42-day lock.
The 42 day countdown/lock is put in place after you have received the domain, so that's when it starts.

You will find the exact date when you login with the info they have provided.

(Another year is always added to the expiry date anyway, not because of the winning bid.)

If its exp. was 6/2 and it was Enom, I don't think there's any late fee to the original owner yet. They may have renewed it. Keep checking the Whois.

Thank you for such a clear answer! Much appreciated ! ....Knowing this, how you big back order guys ride all these hold out? It's like waiting for Santa...but over and over with every back order. The wait is the hardest part( next to losing the name I would assume )

Namejet how much charged you and how can you found this name?

$69 + $1.73 admin fee = total $71.73

Found it by manually searching key words /and playing with words and then looking through PAGES of domains up for pre-release with no bids ...until I Found what I was searching for. Then compared like names/keyword past sales on namebio and did a keyword search on adwords and decided to go with it.

Believe me, I want to blurpp it out so bad hahah! I'm still pretty new at this but I think most people will agree it has plenty of potential ..Its simple,it flows, its 2keywords together and it has a market.

Thanks this is the part that worries me.... though I haven't gotten the link from namejet to create my account on enom yet... the whois did change slightly from the drop/auction time as in the the WHOIS "NAME" is now Whois Agent- and the same Whois privacy address whois had for it at the begging..... Is that just from ENOM paying the Renewal and ENOM uses WHOIS as it's info?

Haven't got my 7 day email or any email yet since I got the one saying I Won the auction and was billed.

Your time would be much better spent looking for your next catch. If you feel the need to worry, direct it towards missing another domain due to spending too much time on a previous name that you have already done your best to acquire.

ok guys UPDATE:

The Domain has been Added to my new Enom account Today! :)

However I am still confused as the name is in the "Auction Lock " period , and after reading ENOMS statements it seems, it is now "my domain" "in my account"... I just can not transfer or sell to anyone for the 42 period. They say nothing about the OG owner being able to renew at this point....But when I look it up online I see comments that people say they can , such as mentioned earlier in this post?????

So which is it?? I'm safe and just have to wait 42- to move, sell, do anything....Or they can still take it back?

I'd like to know so I can finally share the Name :) Thank you for everyones insight.

Thanks ..but Until I understand how how this 42-auction lock really goes, I'm not saying the name until I know for sure I'm in the clear.

Which leads to my next question.....ENOMS says my Contact info is not private and I should pay the whois privacy and that my info is showing the Domain .. on WHOIS..but on WHOIS it still says private, WHOIS AGENT info ?

What's the deal with that? btw yes I want my contact info showing for buyers.

OK SCRATCH the above.....it now shows my name and contact info on WHOIS!!! :) (after just re-updating my info in my account and hitting save)

NOW....does this mean I am GOOD? The 42-auction is just a lock on transfers..it even states "during this lock it can not be transferred out of the current account(mine)" So that would mean they cannot transfer it back to OG owner?.......I think I'm good, WHOIS INFO shows my INFO, DOMAIN in my account and paid for!..... I Just need a green light from someone whom knows this for sure , so i can release/share the name?

I dont want to be an unlucky penny, but if you bought domain for 69 I doubt an owner would got through trouble of renewing, and possibly having to wait 60 days to transfer to you just to make $50!

Auction lock is a period imposed by the registrar. It has nothing to do with the redemption period where the original owner can renew the name.
Namjet auctions take place after the redemption period is over, so winning a name at Namejet pretty much means you own it. Here is an article that explains the auction lock a bit more

Once eNom has moved it to your account post auction, it is legally under your custody till it expires. There is no way (zilch possibility) previous owner can renew it now.
