Hello all, thanks in advance to anyone who can help me.

Mods: I was not really sure where to post this thread- Newbie section or here so please move if you need to!

I would like someone to help me understand the NameJet pre-release process if possible.

There is a domain I want to bid on that is listed there and from reading the site I can't really get my head around it.

Am I right in thinking that it goes:

Domain Expiry Period ends > Name is put up for backorder on pre-release > High bidder at end of the 3 days wins > Card is charged > Domain is credited to winner?

Do I need to open an account with enom before the auction ends as this is where the domain is registered, or does having a NameJet account suffice?

Sorry for the questions as I'm sure it may seem dumb to someone experienced in domaining.

Cheers :)

guess this thread will move soon to the newbie section , but here is my answer:
yes - if more then 1 person backorder the domain , then it will go for 3 days auction - high bidder gets it , if you were the only bidder on the name - you will get it without auction ( hint - better wait for the last minute to order the domain you are after - ordering before might create interest and possibly bring more people to backorder it )

no - you don't need to open enom account - namejet will do it for you and will push the domain over to your account .

Thanks Liror - I assume then that the auction even exists means that more than 1 person backordered it?

Or is it another 3 day auction after the one I see now ends? :-/:

there is only one auction ...

if you see it now on the site and its open to any one to bid - thats not really an auction - thats the time prior to the auction that any one can place the minimum bid for the domain - the Backorder time , - anyone that had placed a bid will be a part of 3 days private auction only for the members who had backorder it .

if you are the only one who bid on it - then you will get the domain straight away without any auction.
