I remember he had a blog and was pretty well known but I can't find his site anymore.

I regret that I start small and didn't invest back my money that I earned from domaining. You need big money to make big money. Start small win big anyone?

Yeah. He only need to sell 1-3 domains a year (at $1M a pop) to pay for his renewal fees.

Hello,

I heard rumors he is the same fellow that owns this forum, NamePros. :)

Mostly hot air IMO.

And why would you say that ? ....a slight tad of jealousy perhaps ??

.

Probably because of the "tl;dr" phenomenon. I couldn't imagine having so little use for my time as to sift through his poorly designed/separated blog posts that are seven miles long a piece.

Good for him though.

....has anyone actually taken the time to read the post that SpareDomains posted?......You know the story to how Frank actually got to where he is today and what it took. I don't understand all the hate to be honest. Yes I have read his blog and it's par for the course but none the less he didn't start off rich at all and was quite in debt to begin with but became very adaptive in his thinking to succeed.

Why be jealous of someones success instead learn from it and then attempt it.

The guy is an absolute genius. I spent hours reading his blog and studying his thinking. Par for the course? I don't think so.

Shame he stopped his blog. Like he said, it took up waaay too much of his time.

Give me one genius instead of a thousand wannabees any day. I know who I'll try to learn from.

It's only tl;dr if you're a Spock'ish ****** who completely sucks at comprehending words and is unable to appreciate valid insight when it's gifted to you. The guy basically laid it all on the table and really opened up his thought process, which is a process that got him to where he is today. If you took the upper 1% (as far as success in domaining) of participants on this forum, they wouldn't be able to shine his shoes.

I mean, it's like I bump into his names at least three times a day, in the course of doing drop research, including today...

Todays drop reg:
StainlessSteelKitchenAppliances // com
StainlessSteelKitchenAppliance // com

Golly, I wonder who owns StainlessSteelRefrigerator.com, since it's the best term in it's niche?
Guess who...

His success actually reflected to what he thinks before and at present. Some people might not understand that because they're too hard to comprehend for themselves.

Aside from the occasional curious reading, I skip right over the blogs of successful online industry guys. None of them are going to lay it out in public from step A to step B to step C... It is mostly noobs who flock to those blogs thinking they are reading pure gold just because the person who wrote it has a lot of money.

If you must read blogs, go find the moderately successful guys since they tend to have looser lips.

Actually most of the domain bloggers really hang it out there. You just need to sift through to get the meat instead of just the promotion.

Frank is supposed to be one of the nicest guys in the business, not to mention the most successful, I'd take any grain of info he's willing to part with quite happily.

You could do a lot worse by listening to someone who has a vested interest in the things they're trying to peddle instead of listening to Frank, who pretty much has all bases covered.

I think most domain bloggers (and members here) try to help when they can. There's a lot of great information that can be given without killing one's own bottom line. Many secrets are best not shared however.

AdSense arbitrage is a good example of why good secrets can't be shared -- noobs will come in and abuse things too far. A more recent example would be that $2.19 GoDaddy coupon a couple days ago -- made a lot of domainers big savings on renewals yet disappeared within hours of becoming mainstream knowledge.

This post addresses this one and some others I didn't want to quote (quite offensive Dongsman, shame on you)

It seems you are all projecting something onto us because we didn't want to read this man's blog posts. Like another poster mentioned, curiosity is what leads me to read these sorts of things. Regardless of how good a domainer he is, he hasn't roped me in with the design of his blog, it looks like information overload, which I do not want. That's my preference, thanks for respecting it (Dongsman)

What you're projecting is jealousy. I could not see it in the other post that was accused of it, and my feelings are not as such, yet you assume we are in some sort of bad state because of his success; while I do not know about the other poster, like I said, good for him. I am happy he could make it, and I think everyone who does, and does not, does their contribution to the world, and is nobusiness of mine unless we are literally in business.

However, although domaining is a large part of my income, I do not feel the need now to sort through this man's blog. I simply provided my view, and was surprised at the aggressive response (though not from who it came from, as I've seen several of this person's other posts and sense a lot of supressed negtativity, but I digress!).

I feel that if you have a blog, and your goal is to get people to read it, it should be presented well. I did not feel this man's page was, and as a result I did not read past the first few lines of his posts. Perhaps if I had more time or vested interest. I did not, however, criticize any of his actual postings (which seems like that's what you guys took it as due to the responses) - I could not, as I have not read them.

I believe -REECE- and others who make similar points in this thread are most likely right in saying that regardless of how much money he has, it is still a business he seems to be competitive in, but again this is only a hit-and-miss way of thinking, as you can't be sure without reading all his blog posts. The question is, is it worth the time to look thrugh them all in the hopes of finding those few tidbits? Not for me, and I respect the decision of anyone, regardless of if it is the same as mine.

To each his ownD-:

In any case, I believe if any are particularly useful, they will find their way onto the NP forum individually anyway.

I've read every post on his blog, also on a more than a few others.

Plus i spent my first six months reading on namepros, helped me avoid the common hurdles faced by newcomers to this business.

Knowledge can never be bad, even if you think the other person is not telling you the 'secrets', their perspective will always provide you a good view of the issues at hand.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts behind your comment - I was just curious, I'm nosy like that :guilty:

True, I was teasing a little - I said that because his comment was derogatory with no reason to back it up.

I don't think anybody is knocking anybody for not wanting to read his blog....just asking why, is'nt that what forums are for, to talk ?

To each his ownD-:

.

Exactly - would'nt it be boring if we all thought the exact same way
