Here is the MY.PE thread. NameCheap should never get a pass after that.
Simple for me! Namesilo....yesterday, today & tomorrow.
In my years with Namesilo, I've never had a problem paying by credit card.
Thank you for heads up. I actually wanted to vote for them. Just a way to say "Thank you Namecheap" - for sending out an email to their customers base asking them to submit comments to ICANN re. planned price increases. No other registrar bothered to do this. But, since I actually never used Namecheap - it would be incorrect for me to vote for them, so voted for Namesilo.
The candidates (and the results) are obviously ones serving domainers in one way or another.
However, there is a number of respected registrars which I would recommend to endusers.
I dealt on various occasions with the following registrars, and had no issues at all.
In no particular order:
Based in France. Strict EU privacy applies. Backend: it simply works, no need to contact support for any purpose. Advanced hosting and vps addons, developed by Gandi in house and intended to be used by professional users (not a common wordpress or cpanel).
https://www.pairdomains.com (aka pairnic)
U.S.-based. One of the oldest registrars. Had a number of domains there (catched by Snapnames). Zero issues. Good overall impression.
Based in Canada. Very stable backend and advanced DNS hosting.
Free speech support, no random "take down" decisions. No ruling from Canadian court = no action:
Once again, we are being asked to do (something, we’re actually not sure what this time) based entirely on an allegation which has never been tested in a court of law and has been afforded absolutely zero “due process”. (The domain in question is a search engine that hosts no content).
What it is we’re being asked to do is, in our minds intentionally vague. If you recall, last time the PIPCU came around they wanted us to arbitrarily takedown domains purely on their edict, hijack said domains’ traffic and reroute it to an IP address displaying advertisements for IP lobby approved business interests.
We think this time the intent is not to actually get the domain name taken down, but rather to build some sort of “case” (I won’t call it legal, perhaps the better word would be “kafka-esque”) that we, easyDNS by mere “Receipt of this email” are now knowingly allowing domains under management to be “used to facilitate criminal activity”
Thank you for the feedback, we're always looking to improve and so we do appreciate any feedback. I've passed your comments to the team for further discussion.
name.com wants $10 for privacy what a morons.
They are do not follow to GDPR showing my details in WHOIS.
I vote for Networksolutions always great deals and fast support
NameSilo & Porkbun are awesome.
code: privacyplease 🤓
$30 .com renewal with NS make sense?
One can always renew @ $17.99 (.com) by simply requesting transfer auth code:
Before you transfer your domain to another company, we would like to extend to you a special promotional offer to renew your domain. This is a limited time offer so please act fast to get this reneweal rate.
Your Special Renewal Rate:
Renew your Domain Name for $17.99*
* Offer valid today only
More seriously though, if they are still looking to serve only corporate customers they've got decades ago - even $35 renewal should be fine. Why not.
I tried this code before name.com says $1.45 but I do not want to pay for the option that should be free. IMO
Who vote for 1&1 ? the most suck registrar.
1&1 should be removed from the list
I have experience with names.co.uk they are 100% scam. Money charged no domain no refund
And you think $17.99 renewal is a great deal? Where are you coming from?
I was laughing at their brilliant marketing
@namesilo deserves it. Those who didn't vote for it, never used it.
Just from my experience. They're the best thing ever.
Best thing since the invention of Pizza? LOL
Can you tell us exactly what makes it the best thing ever?
I like Namesilo by it's simplicity, and Dynadot by it's nice design and usability, but I think the best and most serious company is GoDaddy. Just read about billion investments in it...
This is a great poll clearly showcasing the best in the dn biz. Namesilo are hard to beat for renewal pricing & free whois privacy.
Porkbun - good usability love it.
As of right now, I am still locked out of my Godaddy account. I failed to get their 2 Factor Verification SMS on my phone, and they are taking their own sweet time to resolve it for me (The only way is to delete the 2 Factor Verification).
Take note, 2 factor authentication is really, really iffy.....
If I am permitted to choose 3 registrar.
For me, The Best is Godaddy, Dynadot and Namesilo ...
Who has the cheapest registration price for dot com? So far it's been Epik for me at $8.49 (no added taxes...8.49 flat rate) every day without having to pay extra for a special VIP account like at Godaddy.
But if there is a cheaper, non-special, everyday rate for dot com at another registrar, please do share!
Dynadot is $7.99 now
Everyday rate (including processing fees charged by credit card companies or paypal) would be >= $8.xx anyway.
However, right now:
Namesilo $6.99 new .com registrations, until June 30th. No limits, no coupon code needed.
Kudos to @namesilo for being able to frequently secure better rates from the registry. And for passing the savings onto customers.
is that their permanent rate or just some for the moment special price?
Separate names with a comma.
