I'm currently evaluating domain registrars and would love some feedback on the best options available. Specifically, I'm looking for registrars that excel in:
  • Pricing: Competitive rates, especially for bulk purchases and renewals.
  • Service: High-quality features and reliability.
  • Number of Extensions Supported: Wide range of TLDs (including newer, niche options).
  • Customer Service: Fast, helpful, and knowledgeable support when issues arise.
  • Dashboard UI: Easy-to-use and intuitive interface for managing domains.
  • Pre-Registrations: Ability to secure domains before their official release (backordering, drop-catching, etc.).
  • Portfolio Management: Effective tools for managing a large portfolio of domains.
Which registrars stand out to you in these areas? Any personal experiences or recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

I use Spaceship and Porkbun primarily. These two suit all of my needs best. And I avoid GoDaddy at all costs.

I do not prioritize Afternic in my domaining decisions. Mostly because I despise GoDaddy.

Isn't Spaceship more or less the same as either Namecheap or Namesilo? (I believe to have read it was owned by either Namecheap or Namesilo)

I was recommended Porkbun by many people and tried opening an account to buy a domain with them. Somehow this failed, I couldn't access my newly created account! I tried chatting with support, but no response. I tried calling them several times (which is expensive as I live in Europe, but I called nonetheless) and always had an automated answering machine saying I should chat or email them. I was very disappointed as so many people praised Porkbun, including praise for their support team. Trustpilot has so many posts saying their support is great. Well, I couldn't reach them, neither by phone nor by chat. And that was between 4PM and 5PM CET, which means within the working hours of Porkbun's support (which claims it opens at 6 AM in their local time zone).

Same ownership as NameCheap but is built from the ground up to be more innovative and efficient (great pricing!)

I'd give them my highest recommendation. And to be honest I don't like NameCheap all that much but I love Spaceship. It's a different beast!

Any testimonies about NameSilo and Infomaniak?

NameSilo has, a couple of years ago, been "registrar of the year" here on NamePros, while Infomaniak has a lot of companies famous in Europe as customers (such as RTBF.be, Fnac, Swiss Red Cross, Canton of Geneva, ...).

Both are having decent pricing too, Infomaniak even downward cheap (less than 12€ for a .com, less than 10€ for most European ccTLDs).
