Simple question that I suspect will have many replies.

You've been there. You handregged a domain. Thought you had "a good one" but then it hasn't gotten any bites on any of the marketplaces? or is it a matter of "too soon" as in the market isn't there yet?

let's not talk about the domains you tried your best to do outbounds but simply no bites (although you can mention if it's useful info) those we can assume are obvious candidates for deletes.

I'm talking about the domains you didn't do much outbounds for or never got around to it. You still fancy them and believe in your heart they could sell.

So do you STAY or do you Drop?

What decisions did you guys make in this situation?

also. what other solutions did you come up with to sell them quickly right before they expire so as to recoup your loses. Include Namepros obvious. but any please else?

It is hard letting go...gonna cancel a few tonight...sad...not sure I have the strength...some I have had for years...they keep asking me to renew them...so hard...not sure I can do it...maybe this is the year they will sell...should save a couple at least...okay just 3 of them...but I just had a hit on another one...okay...ONE more year and then I drop them.

Even thou it's a simple question, the answer is not as simple as we wish.

If we were to make a decision purely from analytics and stats it might be
easier but, even when we see the analytics report and the stats, sometime
the 'X FACTOR' as I like to call it kicks in and then the game it's changed. :)

The 'X FACTOR' it's our emotional decision maker. In our entire life, most
of our decision are made emotionally, we can't argue with that, it's a proven
and well known fact.

I'm still owning a few decent-not-bad domains that I've got since I've started in
this industry and I'm planning to keep them for good if they will not sell them self
by inbound, just because they are a part of my journey in this nice venture of
domain investing.

But, when I'm facing the moment where I have to see if I'll drop or keep a domain
I usually start like this and trying to be as much objective as I can.

Doing a whole new review process of the domain based on analytics and stats:

1. Traffic
2. Inquires
3. Past/New Similar Sales
4. Past/New Similar Regs on All TLDs
5. Past/New Advertisers on Google for That Keyword
6. Past/New Social Interactions Including #Hashtags
7. Relevant News or Trends with That Keyword

So at the end, this is my course of action in order to make a decision, but yes
:) sometimes the 'X FACTOR' might get involved and change my decision
until next renewal.

Wish you all a great journey in your ventures and high ROIs! ;)
