What's more important, backlinks or Alexa rank?

I'm purchasing domains to add to my parking portfolio and I'd like some advice. Let's say there are two domains I'm looking at. One has an Alexa rank but only 1 backlink, and the other has NO Alexa rank and 10 backlinks. Which would you consider the better investment?

Of course, having both backlinks and a good Alexa rank would be nice but that's not always in my price range.

Alexa is not as good in getting which domains are good. Try majesticseo, ahref or opensiteexplorer but the domain with just one backlink should not be good for parking, unless it consists of high value keywords or is a great typo.

well, I'm a newbie also.
I have learn a lot from smurge's thread.
IMO, I think backlink is important than Alexa rank.
And the backlink must be good quality,
then the domain will has good traffic.

But to answer your question good backlinks are worth much more than Alexa Rank (unless it's an 6-10)

Alexa is flawed - most of the traffic measured is from people who use the toolbar to see Alexa rank. So, not the general public.

It also depends on the quality of the backlinks, but generally backlinks are more valuable. If a domain name has not been developed or registered for a long time, it may not have an Alexa rank.

I would not say that links at forums are quality backlinks.
Me personaly I would rather go for links in blog posts (not comments) and links at HP of well ranked sites. Links at "links" sections of random sites are also not quality backlinks.

Aslo check out the anchor texts... if theres like drugs or other spam words, don't buy this domain.

Agree with your opinion.
But where and how to find domain with quality backlinks?

A lot of friend said he buy domain on Godaddy/namesnap/namejet,

Nowadays, it is hard work to handreg a good keywords domains.

Alexa can be faked. Back-links not.

So back-links worth more
