Many domainers use something like undeveloped, which hosts your domains for sale but for a commission. Another thing is efty, which charges you per month but takes no commission.

Is there demand for something better? How would people feel about landers which host your domains for free with no commission, the only catch being ads displayed on the lander?

What else would people want from such a lander? What would make you consider using another landing page service? I would greatly appreciate any good ideas.

You need a statement, Domain For Sale and a Contact form, and Recaptcha all on 1 page. I'd prefer (although I haven't got around to using them much) Efty's version, rather than UnDeveloped's version. For 2 reasons. More options for design and no commission fees

Apart from these 2 things. Some people also swear by some sales blurb. I think it's nice to have, but non-essential.

    Thanks for the opinion.

So you would you use a lander which you don't have to pay a penny for but which would display ads?

The themes would have to look beautiful and I would use the email contact form. Recaptcha is a good idea.

Nope. I never said that. I don't recall ever seeing an Efty page with ads, I think the Efty pages look very good amongst most of these services.

That was supposed to be a questiom, it was a typo.

So you'd rather pay a fee to efty and not have ads on your landing page than use a completely free landing page with ads?

Toughdomains is a service that provides a "Free" membership (up to 2,500 names). They do have a banner Ad along the top, and also charge a percentage if Buy-it-Now is used. They have some paid options with no commission and also allow you to control all of the ads on the landing pages...

I tried them last year, and I have been meaning to check them out again (as they introduced more features and options). I just haven't had the time yet to check out the new version.

The reason I ask is because I am able to make something like this. I want to hear what people want of it.

I want to make a no-commission, no-fee landing page service with ads.

Do you feel like toughdomains does the job?

Not sure if it will have all the features you plan to develop/offer. They do have several "Live Demos" on their site -- so you can see how the service works. When you mentioned Ads on the landing pages, it reminded me about the Toughdomains Platform.

I liked it because I was able to put in my own Ads. The catch is you can control only some of the Ad Slots when using the FREE membership. To control all of the Ad Slots you have to move to one of their paid subscriptions.

It sounded similar to what you are describing -- free landing pages but there will be Ads on the pages.

The 10% Fee when using Buy-it-Now doesn't really affect me -- I usually don't list anything with a BIN. During the negotiation process I would always say the deal would be done through Escrow...

You lost any interest from me with the ads. Domains For Sale Landing Pages should be just that, with no distractions. Plain and simple.

I am also surprised there's so much interest in running ads on landing pages by both providers and domainers in view of how they distract from the sale, clutter up the page and also basically pay next to nothing in most cases anyway. I suspect at least 95% of all domains here would generate no income so why bother with ads on the page?

Are you still going to pursue development? Do you have any work-in-progress to show us, to comment on.

You can still offer ad-based, it may possibly work ok. it can also be done for a fee instead based on each domain or a monthly fee and more reliable income for the provider.

As long as you have an option to turn them off and turning them off doesn't make the page look odd. It's ok with me also. But I think it is totally superfluous, and against good design principals. IMHO.

But then I'd be doing what everyone else is doing and there would be no incentive for domainers to change.

The main reason I wanted to give Toughdomains a try again was to have that top banner Ad slot (not the 2 on the right side). I wanted to join some Affiliate Programs, and then use the Affiliate Links in that top banner slot...

My Market Place gets between 10K to 15K hits per month (according to Google Analytics), so if I can just convert a few Affiliate Links it might be enough revenue to pay for the landing page service (plus some profits).

Go to their site - It's very simple to do

    https://undeveloped.com

I don't like the idea of landing pages with ad's - agree with above comments that they would be distracting.

If you have domains that can be monetised than there are there other options out there, why complicate things....

Curious why people would use Undeveloped? They do not promote or provide your domain name with any exposure to end users. In the end you end up paying them a commission.

While it is true that Efty doesn't charge commission - you still have to use an Escrow which does take a fee. So in the end it all works out kind of the same.

If the goal of the page is to sell the domain, the last thing you want on the page is ads. Those are only going to distract the user and drive them away. You want it as easy as possible for the user to fill out their contact information. That's the only goal.

If people are worried about saving $6 a month at the expense of having ads on their landers, then they're probably in the wrong business

Create your own landing page. No ads. No paying commission or fees for direct sales, other than escrow.com or whatever escrow you choose to use.

    Why is that so difficult?

If you want other exposure list additionally in all the non-exclusive marketplaces.
